Dr. Emily Channell-Justice (Harvard University, USA) presents "Self-Organization Then and Now: Civic Responses in Ukraine.” This is a presentation about the self-organized response that was key to the Euromaidan protests the 2014 invasion, and then she connects that to the full-scale war.
Dr. Channell-Justice is the Director of the Temerty Contemporary Ukraine Program at the Ukrainian Research Institute, Harvard University. A sociocultural anthropologist, she is the author of Without the State: Self-Organization and Political Activism in Ukraine (University of Toronto; 2022). She has pursued research on political activism and social movements among students and feminists during the 2013-2014 Euromaidan.
