are you asking about our bank account?? if not, if money received in cash, we first identify 2 accounts involved. one is cash.. another one we have to analyse. if money received as interest, other account is interest account. if our customer paid us cash for purchases he made from us, the other account is purchase account. like this. now cash is received right? so we will debit cash account. and credit other account. we won't record our own account in our business right? so if ₹500 received in cash, we will debit cash account and credit another account involved. There is no question of debiting or crediting our account here !! if you are asking about debiting/crediting our bank account my answer is different. yes. In banks and e payment apps like phone pe and google pay, this debit and credit usage are reverse. They send us information by their point of view and not from our point of view. Hence there is difference. If amt is received for us, it is given aspect for them. so credit. and if amount paid for us, it is receiving aspect for them, so debit.
