You're so cute. .You said Palmer Ranch 31 times! I used to come to Sarasota every Christmas as a kid from Canada, always loved it. Returned a few years ago, would love to return to retire, but as a single person foreign exchange, the cost of entry, and the HOA fee's will keep me out. Insane how many places have HOA fee's.

That’s the problem with Florida, its super high cost of living with the crazy HOA fees and insurance premiums. They will eventually completely price people out. That’s one way to keep the trash out but at some point there won’t be enough people that are comfortable forking out that much money.

Although I do agree that Sarasota's cost of living is, and has been outrageous, I don't see a day when people from the north or west coast will stop wanting to move here. I hope it comes but I am doubtful.

I am trying to sell my house 550k, not a villa, my HOA in Palmer Ranch Isles is 383$ not bad compared to Esplanade I heard….Dont be discouraged & UTC is traffic nitemare year round….Oh I’m moving back West otherwise I wud live in this area 🎉

Village walk and the Isles are 2 high quality neighborhoods in Palmer ranch! Divosta was ahead of its time when building out those neighborhoods. Good luck with the sale of your home!

Thats the beauty of HOA's. Nobody is forcing you to buy in one. I've seen and heard too many horror stories of people living in NON-HOA communities that I don't think I would ever take my chances in one. However I do agree with you about the high insurance cost in Florida. But there are things you can do to make it more affordable. Are there things you can do to make it stop snowing for 6 month out of the year for the people who are looking to move to sarasota that way they wont want to come here anymore?
