@@eriche8870 No the board was fine. You are right they are not cheap but I would honestly say they are still the best iSUP brand out there. But I guess they should be for the money. What an awesome family adventure! Curious, which would be easier if there are 2 adults with 2 SUPS and 1 is a weaker novice paddler : 1.) 2 SUPs : 1 on front towing 1 on back vs 2.) 2 SUPs: 2 on front paddling together towing an empty SUP behind. And I would assume the tandem board like the one shown will massively outperform both of the above? Your thoughts?
@SUPboardermag2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! A tandem board might solve your problem. If you're not on a tandem board, an adult on their own SUP would be the better choice as stability would be an issue with two adults on one board. Hope that helps. Beau

Thanks for the comment. They can be a pain to carry by yourself. When on the water, it takes a while to turn and manoeuvre the board, but still works ok. We wouldn't go for a long paddle on it. Hi great video thinking about getting into paddleboarding and specifically looking at inflatables as I have a camper. Would probably be looking at the second hand market first but I'm a bigger guy so wondered if you could recommend 2 or 3 top brands but I should look out for..Thanks
@SUPboardermag5 жыл бұрын
Hey, there are so many brands out there now. And it also depends on where you are in the world too. Good brands to look at. Red Paddle Co, Starboard,Fanatic, ...more budget brands look at Aztron , Aqua Marina , Shark SUP,... The general rule is you do get what you pay for. More expensive brands will have a better quality control process and better materials. Keep an eye on our reviews we have loads of iSUPs coming out over the next month. Hope that helps, thanks Reuben

Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful family trip. The thing I noticed was Izzy's life preserver was on backwards, I think. Having the flotation on her back promotes her to float face down and may also make it difficult to turn face up I case of an emergency. Just a note. Keep up the amazing videos 👍.
@SUPboardermag6 жыл бұрын
Hi David, Thanks for your comment and glad you liked the video. Izzy is wearing a back float. This is what she learnt to swim with. So it is meant to be that way round and we found that she finds it hard to climb back on the board with a big life preserver on. We really cant fault the back float great for giving kids a little extra confidence without having to wear a full life vest. But this is a personal choice and might not work well for all kids. Also Izzy is very confident in the water and can swim without her float as well. Thanks again Reuben

How would this handle 2 kids and 2 adults with some gear?
@SUPboardermag4 жыл бұрын
Well.. I guess the question is. How big are the kids and how much gear to you want to take? I would be happy to take 2 kids out sub 4years old, is they are not wigglers! Otherwise I would look at the wider Multiperson boards just to give you that much more stability. They won't be as fast but soon you should be able to have the kids to help paddle as well. Any help Reuben

@SUPboardermag5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Robert. Its a back float (swimming aid) when she was young she was always happier using this then a bulky BA that she couldn't climb back on the board with. Its all a personal preference and Izzy at this age was almost happy to swim without any floats. But yes a back float isn't a life jacket and its does make your child face down. So a big no no, for non water confident kids. Thanks Reuben

Thanks for your comment Sandy. Im not disagreeing with you, yes that is the safest and best way, but myself and lucy are always very risk aware and are always risk assessing. And we were happy with Izzy level on and around the water and our paddling environment. If that makes sense? But yes if you are unsure always wear a full BA. Izzy is now 7 and very water confident and aware. With or without a BA. Thanks again for the comment, happy paddling. Reuben

Watched a few of these videos excellent... however why is mummy and daddy not wearing a lifejacket jacket? why do I have to put one ON if life if you don’t..........🤔
@SUPboardermag3 жыл бұрын
Hi J R. Thanks for your comment, I will happily get back to you about it. At the end of the day wearing a life jacket or BA is a personal choice. Yes it is always safer and will be more responsible to always wear a life preserver of some kind. But myself and lucy in this video, are extremely happy in and on the water and have been doing paddleboarding along with many other far more dangerous water sports for many many years. For many of our Sup journeys we will take buoyancy aids with us but we will not wear them unless we feel that we should (ie the conditions start to change). Our daughter now is now 6 and she is extremely confident in and on the water with and without any personal buoyancy. We have always taught her to use extra buoyancy to help with confidence but not to rely on it. To others I would recommend if you are unsure or feel unconfident you should always wear some kind of personal buoyancy but also don't become reliant on it. I hope this helps and makes sense to why we will sometimes be seen not wearing buoyancy aids. Thanks Reuben

Of course it's a personal choice and really depends on the swimming ability and water confidence of the child. Our daughter has been swimming without any life vest since a very young age. And is very happy in and on the water. And she preferred (on this day ) to have a back float on. Then she can lay down and move around the board easier. Also she is much happier swimming with the back float on then a bulky life jacket. But of course the most important thing is they are happy, relaxed and safe. If the conditions where different then we would reassess what she is wearing. But agree the safest is a full life jacket. So if in any doubt that is what to put on them. Thanks for your comment. Reuben

SUPboarder confidence and swimming ability are irrelevant if someone is hit on the head as they go into the water
