Hey guys! So I think this is the cutest subscription ever but I am a little worried about one thing! All of the palettes I have received from this brand have looked extremely similar. Yeah they have better colors just keep hanging on. The next box is a little better. I got peach scent water instead of lime. I love the peach. I won’t spoil your next box but you will see some cool stuff

The thing is that this box is meant for makeup artists to build up their kit, so it's inevitable so get similar stuff. They did a box one with a bunch of blushers in, in a range of shades.

Not glazed donut, glowy glassy skin. Also, I love how you're thinking of the practicality of not swatching all the palettes, and I agree, since there are similar shades, using the smaller one worked beautifully. The formula looks so nice, it's just paying the huge sums of shipping I cannot bring myself to do again, so I've not tried more than the base paints.

I wouldn't mind those shades all the time but I love neutral shades lol I mean if they sent crazy shades yeah they might be cool to have but I would never use them so it would be a waste. I think the afternoon tea reference is to the British custom of afternoon tea, which usually includes tea served with small sandwiches and pastries as well as scones served with jam and clotted cream. That would explain strawberry and cream being connected to afternoon tea. Strawberry jam is very common for scones.

Literal whole fresh strawberries & cream is also a massive thing in the summer. As in, they sell out of fresh strawberries and cream at Wimbledon apparently. The tennis tournament, not just the area. I grew up in the UK and one of our favourite summer outings were to the 'Pick Your Own' strawberry fields.

P. Louise caters towards blending and gradients so alot of their eyeshadow palettes are the same color in 20 different shades so you can create the perfect blend. Every look they post on their Instagram is some sort of gradient. Also they are based in the UK so their makeup caters to that audience and how they like to do their makeup which is mostly very tan skin with dramatic eyes.

Hey, yah, when they have two drawers, I think one is for fair skin tones and the other darker, so the palette will work for anyone. Love these reviews. It's a brand I keep considering and just haven't yet.

P Louise does have some very colorful pallets but I think I saw these boxes are for working MUA’s to build their kits quickly and affordably. I’ve also read the reason the shades are so similar when they give two palettes or a duel palette is bc it’s for fair and deeper skin tones. Which makes sense if it’s for MUA’s.

Afternoon tea is a very British thing with sandwiches and scones - the British type of scones! - with jam and clotted cream, and yes, probably with a pot of tea. The jam is usually but not always strawberry - hence the scent being strawberries and cream.

In the UK, 'Strawberries & Cream' specifically refers to having fresh strawberries and some cream. It's was a traditional treat in the height of summer. Still served at certain events, at astronomical prices. That's what it refers to, as opposed to scones with clotted or fresh cream & jam (surprisingly, very rarely is the jam strawberry, but even if it is - you always say that it's jam or conserve). Not that scones aren't sometimes served with strawberries and cream, but the strawberries are fresh 😀

I checked the P. Louise website after you opened the advent calendar and that's how I learned the pallette had 2 levels. So I got curious and watched other people opening that advent calendar, which I don't usually do, and nobody else seemed to notice the 2nd level in the pallette either, so at least it wasn't just you. I'm absolutely loving the fish theme of this box, I'm a pisces and have a decent sized koi fish tattooed on my upper arm.

It seems like the budget box is for making like a makeup kit, which sounds like maybe they may be geared towards makeup artists trying to build up their kits. So maybe the two pallets are for helping having colors for more skin tones? So its basically the same, but with variations for other skin colors? I may just be reading too much into it. But all the pallets you've received do look very similar!

Since so many people are talking about afternoon tea in the UK - 'Strawberries & Cream' refers to fresh strawberries and cream which is a traditional treat in the summer time. If they advertised 'Strawberries & Cream' for afternoon tea and then just gave you strawberry jam and cream on scones, people would riot. Jam is jam. They also traditionally have always served strawberries and cream at the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. For hundreds of years, strawberry season was very brief (a few weeks) and in the height of summer - so this was a traditional afternoon tea for those who grew them or could afford to buy them (the wealthy middle to upper classes).

You always get the box a month behind (so that was February, which you get near end of March) so your next box will be the March box (which you should be getting soon in mail, end of April) also, the only charge that changes is the shipping. Depending what is in box shipping fluctuates! I cancelled my March box but than I saw a blush palette spoiled for Aprils box so I got it 😂

I watched a MUA so makeup. I also received a water spray and didn't know what to use it for. He said on special occasions to skip moisturizer, etc and saturate your face with water spray and let it dry. Then repeat and let dry and then do foundation, etc. As I'm nearing 60,I'm not loving foundation, etc. However, when I did the water spray technique, I LOVED how my makeup looked so you should try it one day.

I love the water spray! I use it as a part of my evening skin routine too as just a hydrating spray. I also used it for a recent sunburn and it helped keep it nice and hydrated as it healed. I got one of each. ❤

The one palette in the advent calendar is a custom made for the advent calendar, it is very similar to one they have with a drawer, but it does not have a drawer in it😅 And yes, they do have a lot of beautiful colored eyeshadow, they and blend bunny are my favourite coloured formulas, but don't know if they are for you, because they are extremely pigmented😆

They still make Juicy Juice. My son, who is 18, always has a box or six on his person or in his bag. He has Type 1 Diabetes and so he uses them for lows. My mom just passed away last week and she had two bottles of the perfume that she has worn forever and a day, I gave one to my daughter and kept one for myself. I told my daughter if you ever missing her just take a wiff and you will immediately be reminded of Nana. This month I got a mystery makeup box. It was £25. I got 3 4 pan palettes which I sometimes prefer. These had great colour differences. I got a red palette, a bronze palette and a golden palette. Also got a brow freeze soap and a pinks double ended eyeliner and I got 1 other item but I can't for the life of me remember what it is! Definitely good value for money and what I don't really like or if something won't suit me I give it as a present to someone.☘️🇮🇪💚

I like to use those moisturizing type sprays for my back. Even when I am able to get lotion on my back I am not able to rub it in lol so those moisturizing sprays keep my back moisturized without being greasy feeling.

Alexandria "afternoon tea" is a meal. You get a cup of tea, but you get plates with cakes and sandwiches on them, and scones with jam/cream etc to share. It's a British thing 😂😉. That's why your lip gloss doesn't smell like tea 😂

You missed the colourful palettes in July (greens), September (autumn colours), and November (all the colours). I think there are some peaches and pinks in March's box (mine should be here today or tomorrow). Cost - it's 30 pounds sterling plus shipping. I believe these mystery boxes are to start a make up kit. Like what professionals use. So most palettes might be similar because of maybe skin range. I could be wrong obviously but if you are looking for colorful palettes I recommend just buying one you want off the site

Maybe have everyone use the same shade color palettes on each other and see what ya all come up with for looks? Might be kinda fun! Louise's birthday called if I remember right was "Go Shawty it's your birthday". I remember looking up what Shawty meant, and according to google it is a British term of endearment for an African American. Anyway, I hope that helps.

PLouise has higher end palettes and they EXPLODE with color. Hopefully some future palette in the Budget Box will reflect that.

I will say about the ear infection if you’ve used Q-Tips then I’d just go ask if they could clean out your ear- I’m a swimmer and had a horrible ear infection and it turns out part of the problem is I had a cotton tip stuck in my ear 😅….never hurts to check!

Alexandria please look into this on the payments you made. This box is her BIRTHDAY Box which was a couple months ago. So that’s what was sent to you. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure you had to purchase this box separately from the subscription. But like I said I could be wrong. And yes these boxes have been getting a lot of the same ish colours of eyeshadow pallets. So not cool. But again if I’m right this months is a colourful palette. But again I could be wrong. I have been sitting on the fence of subscribing to this but I have been watching a lot of the unboxings and people are not happy receiving very similar palettes! Thanks for sharing!
