Tripa is fabulous. Made in a feijoada style. My favorite place is Cozinha do Manel near the Heroismo metro station. Be prepared to be hungry.

I was there in Porto this past Summer. I really enjoyed Rua Santa Catarina. I had lunch there and then did a little shopping. Going back now in April and my concentration will be mostly in Braga. I love European train travel also as I first discovered it right there in Portugal. I love Portugal.

A rivalry ? Between Lisbon and Porto ??? Nonsense ! Porto people are envious of Lisbon's importance and status as capital. And we don't really lose sleep about it, which drives them more mad than they already are. I should also mention that you find the best people in the world there. They're tough as nails, hard working, extremely loyal and straightforward. The best friends one can have. Very authentic people.
