I like how after only a year he knew to use the slide for a d (because the d is usually sharp so you need to push out the slide). That was something I didn’t learn until like my 5th year.

In my elementary in Minnesota we stated band I 5th grade, and I moved to Texas for 6th, but they didn’t start band till 6th, so when I picked band as my elective and told my instructor I had 1year experience he put me in the 7th grade band, but it was on the 7th grade schedule, and I was in 6th, so we had to change my schedule, and put me in the beginners course, and I had to learn all the fundamentals again. Those first 6months were torture… I’ve been at it for 6 years P.S. for my dads 45b day I woke him up playing happy birthday too

i’ve been playing trumpet for like 4-ish years and i still practice it occasionally. however, my main instrument is euphonium/baritone now and i’ve been playing that only for 3 years. im only a sophomore in high school and i’m playing with university bands with euphonium. i also play tuba and piano. starting to learn bass clarinet too! :)

@DDTRUMPETGarage : I'm in grade 8 and i play percussion and bass guitar. I'm not even kdding, my trumpet friend could play grade 2.5 music in a month! He also practises for 3 hours a day so I feel like it's the more you practise the better! Keep it up man!
