I live about 25 minutes from Oxford. The whole area had weather reports and warnings about heavy rain and flash floods. My friend, who lives there, told me he had several red alerts on his phone about the dangers involved, as did I. I lived in Oxford when hurricane Gloria (1955) hit CT., and the main road was a river. I have to say, yesterdays flash floods were 3 times worse!!

I've lived in this area my whole life and have never seen anything like this. We got a summer's worth of rain in a few hours, about 10 inches. Every small river or stream overflowed.
