I agree, @Irina D. In addition, I get confused that now Casein is recommended. In other videos (in more than one) Thomas has repeatedly said that Casein is very insulinogenic.

Great videos! I usually implement the following intermittent Keto (with sporadic 2-3 times a week IF): - 2 months strict keto (with max x2 cheat meals total) - 1 week of carb load (controlled and healty) - rinse and repeat. I'd like to hear your opinion! :)

Great video. I think its cool that you mentioned to take in protein before the meal on the cheat day. Ive been doing IF 18:6 most days and at least three times a week a 20 hour fasting happens when work is busy and that includes my scheduled one day a week 20 hour fasting on Friday night into Saturday 2pm. So I had my first real cheat meal not counting anything but it was interesting because I felt like I was hard wired to go for mostly animal proteins which would be seafood since im a pescatarian. I even had sashimi which are just the raw fish cuts without rice. It just happened naturally though when I went to the buffet place to eat and I just focused on taking in majority of protein and not so much like rice or pastas or breads and stuff. Well just wanted to share how cool it was that you mentioned the protein thing, I just felt like I had to have a control over the cheat meal so maybe it wasnt really a cheat meal lol.

Sir...i do IF with keto..i do 2 meals a day...is it necessary to consume fats in both my meals or can i just eat all of my fats in the second meal?as i eat majority of my protien and carbs in the first meal. Will this cause a problem to enter ketosis and stay there? I am new to keto..please help

If someones intent were to maintain or gain muscle, and want that anabolic switch to be on. ie. 2.5g+ of Lucien.. How would we go about doing that if werr having casien forms of protein? Would the digestion rate not affect the anabolic threashold to be hit?

Its amazing how good i fell when i have done this, i grew up a fat kid, at 11yrs old i was 6ft tall and 265lb now im 20yrs 6'6 ft and 260lb. Once i started my weight loss i always felt like garbagecwhen eating junk food, now because of fasting exercise and food knowledge, i feel as if what i eat is fuel. Thank you thomas.

You will. I was on Keto for several months, and had lost a ton of weight. Then my friend invited me to an MMA fight, and I had bought a frozen lemonade at the center. I ended up crashing an hour later and slept through the entire lineup of fight. I felt like shit the entire next day.

Yes and no what I do when I go to the Chinese buffet I eat like four cups of broccoli then probably around eight ounces of chicken breast with a couple cups of green beans. Then by the time I go to the bad stuff im only getting maybe 130 carbs and maybe 60 grams of sugar from crab Rangoon and the sugary sauced stuff. I just get like a a fourth a cup of each of the bad stuff just as a sampler. I love vegetables maybe thats why it works and I have always been a meat head.

I had a cheat and follow d up with ACV water and a bowl of ground beef with tomato sauce greens and cheese and I ended up losing weight the next day. So the protein thing makes sense. The acv regulated my blood sugar and digestion.

Yep just like being body hung over. I only eat a cheat meal about once every 3 months. Then I always feel so bad that I swear I will NEVER do it again because it's painful to my whole body for the next couple days.Next time I will try ur way. 😎

I think he missed some of the issue here. Hitting enough protein may help you to achieve satiety so you don't eat a dozen donuts and instead eat just 2-3, Fair enough. But a bigger issue, at least for me, is that of metabolism and digestion. I can't eat a donut because of IBS and Gluten sensitivity, even with the help of digestive enzymes. No amount of protein is going to solve that. What I have found is that it helps somewhat if I eat a bit of green veggies right before, or with, the cheat meal.

Thomas Craig the guy entirely in tune to you hosting the internet's greatest show ever here:) Already feeling the affects of getting into shape, having integrated the disciplines you my main nutritional angel generously provide me. I'm greatful to have learn't to go Dirty 16 Fast 5 days per week Mainly Keto, however on weekends I now eat what I want when I want to help build that mitochondrial function. I'm raising my push ups inside my daily 1 hour 16 mins indoor workouts to 600 along with the 1000 squat thrusts the 160 Pull-ups on ladder inclined in stair well. Run down up stairs 100 Burpees with the squat thrusts with the push ups inside the Burpees:) 1.5 litres water 9 gulps per 10 Burpees push ups squat thrusts. I break my fasts with Salt with Apple Cider too:) The supplements Lipo. Mag. Carn. NAC. PQQ. D. .05g Cre. are A-OK. Ohh. Pea protein 30g. Hemp Protein 30g. Chicken Wings 70 g protein. Usually bung in a can of Tuna or Sardines plus Greek yoghurt, or Cottage cheese before bed:) Insulins spikes of 30g usually fruit salad with rice pudding week days only 30g carbs. Sat Sun a little more. Following you is proving that it's good business on my body this is why I'm leaner. I have to say that it may be true the Magnisium can make a person more relaxed still I'm getting in my workouts it's great. I appreciate you Thomas. Good to see your Garage Gym. 2 cheat days in a row and wow I’m disappointed. *sigh* I told myself I wasn’t gonna do this. 7 weeks on keto and I gave in to the worst foods you can think of. I’ve cream, Taco Bell, Burger King, chocolate, cookies, cheesecake, cheetos....🤦🏻‍♀️ I am bloated. Gained 10 pounds in those two days. Emotional eating is rough. I wouldn’t even call them cheat days. They were me giving into my emotions. Before keto I was a huge emotional eater and now that I didn’t have anything to cope with(because I would use food to cope) I gave in to food. *sigh*.... what do I do now? My body is now just craving to binge, craving the bad food. Anything makes me want to vomit but I eat it anyways to the point of pure fullness overload. Someone help me. I definitely am gonna gain massive fat from this. Is my 7 weeks down the drain? Please someone help me....☹️ I can’t fail. Not this time...I am done failing. Idk what to do though....

Don’t beat yourself up. Two days won’t undo 7 whole weeks of being awesome! Just start back into your keto routine and consider your cheat days a tiny blip. It’s okay, shit happens! :)

Youd have to drink alot. He recommended 30 g protein. I think bone broth averages about 12 g per cup. Even so, i know this dies not directly answer the question

In another of Thomas’s “cheat meal protocol” videos he actually does recommend bone broth before a cheat meal. He also said other things to do like consume a high glycemic carb like a rice cake or some cereal with about 4 oz of protein. To let your body get adapted to some carbs and protein so that your system doesn’t get shocked all at once with the cheat meal. Then he recommended bone broth then he said take ACV + lemon with the meal. That was a 4 year old video though so who knows 😄

But isn’t the purpose of the cheat meal to have a big “I don’t care” meal? Mainly to keep your mental sanity....I rather have a cheat meal every two weeks, and give my mind a rest from healthy eating, than cheating on my cheat meal ......if that makes any sense.

Thomas likes to overdo it. Tbh if you stay consistent, falling off the wagon here or there isn't too big of an issue. The issue is the people who fall off and then roll backwards.

I know it doesn't work for everyone but how about ppl just learn about discipline and self control. On my chest day I can enjoy 1 ice cream cone and call it a day.
