Hello Giselle, I love shawarma. Every time I visit Egypt I repeat several times the delicious Shawarma. I have tried in different locations in Cairo and Giza, but for me the best location is on El Tahrir Street ( I cannot remember the place name) but its located next to Koshary El Tahrir : El Tahrir, Ad Doqi A, Dokki, Giza Governorate, because it was my first time eating Shawarma . I tried both meat and chicken ( delicious), also the restaurant called Koshary El Tahrir, it was my first time that I ate koshary too. Furthermore, I have marvelous memories in this special place ( next to next) because of that: Koshary and Shawarma. So, I have been in Egypt 6 times, so always I go, I eat in there in different days. Another place very special for me is the restaurant on the same street ( close by) called AL-Agha. Love them. Finally, at the beginning of this video, behind you there is a hotel called Cosmopolitan, I stayed in there , good price and very nice.

Maybe you are referring to shawarma at Taza? maps.app.goo.gl/JzYgmiCG9VsxcEaq6 I have never been to Taza, but someone else has just mentioned them in the comments, and it looks to be in the same area you are talking about. I actually order from Koshary El Tahrir pretty often, they are good. I recognize Al-Agha, I've driven by it many times, but I have actually never eaten there yet! I know they must be great, because they are busy every time I drive by, which is one of the reasons I still haven't eaten there - I never feel like waiting when I see the lines 😅 I am going to have to try it soon

Hi @gadventures, I love your vlogs. I'm also an American living in Cairo. I moved here a little over a year ago. I would love to connect with you. I am so impressed by how you are so brave and have adapted to the culture. You're amazing!
@Gventures5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Angel! Do you like living here? To be honest, I rarely even see my friends these days because I'm so busy with work, it usually takes some planning and moving my schedule around (classes, times to record) for me to meet them, so it might be kind of difficult. I just don't want to tell you yes and then I never do 😅 Actually most of the time when I can meet people it's so spontaneous, I just message them "Hey you around and free right now?" and if they are, we meet up, or vice versa and they message, if I'm free we meet up. The reality of my life right now 🤣 But staying busy is good, I have a lot of things I'm working on and improving stuff 👍 What area of Cairo do you live in, do you like it?

@Gventures Thanks for getting back to me Hun. I'm glad you're so busy and so well adapted to life here. I moved here a little over a year ago. My husband is egyptian, and every time we would visit in the past, I didn't want to go back to the US. I live in New Cairo Tagamo Fifth Settlement. It's a completely different vibe from downtown. I love visiting downtown, my husbands family lives there, but it's a little too busy for me. I was looking to follow you on insta, and couldn't find you. Wish you all the best in your future ventures. You seem like a cool down to earth chick. Hopefully, one day, our paths will cross. Take Care 💕

Haha, wow, well I guess the bechamel is still popular, since the guy that recommended me this place suggested I try it too. Thanks for watching tohotmosiii, glad I could should you a glimpse into your old neighborhood in Giza!

❤ I owe you now twice. You've already and kindly showed me my old school at Bab el louk. By the way, the area is called el Agooza, just next to el Dokki. Be safe.

@@tohotmosiii7898 Ah shit you're right, it's Agouza! 🤣 I didn't notice, they are so close to each other. The French Institute, was that you? I forgot your username since you requested that. Well awesome I was able to show you this today too! And thanks for the correction 😅

Hmm I have eaten shawarmas when I was there thanks to one of my taxi drlvers but i dont remember anything about the price... 21 years ago...I was just addicted to fast food at that time! By the way a shawarma cost 5 or 6 dollars in Beirut at the moment.. Anyway let the divine power continue your great videos👍

Thank you so much Sobek! And damn, prices in Beirut are so high! I really want to visit, but I think it might take a back seat after hearing how high the prices are! 😅

@@Gventures Hey no actually its not that expensive 😏 I was just comparing with Egypt or 2 years ago! Still it could be an affordable and great travel destination… Its a beautiful country, mountains, beaches, different religions and sects! When you are here you may feel that you are in different countries while you are only in one country, maybe thats the charm of Lebanon..

@@WarriorSobek That's amazing, and definitely what has attracted me to the country in the first place. I will certainly visit some time. But first, going to visit relatives in Argentina, and take some more trips around Egypt on the bike 😎

@@Gventures Oh I have been in Argentine 1 time in 2010. I was in Buenos Aires only for a half day since I was in hurry to catch the cruise ship from Brazil to Spain.. And the bus from Lima to Buenos Aires was a big challenge it took over 80 hours i think..

You have just made very hungry 🤣. Have you been to Felfala restaurant in Downtown Cairo. Beautiful place and good food, I have been there many times!!
@Gventures5 ай бұрын
It's actually closed right now 😅 I think they permanently shut down the take out spot on Talaat Harb street, and the sit-down one around the corner is currently under some kind of renovation. But yeah I've been to Felfela in the past, both the dine in, and take out spot. My first falafel video I ever made in Egypt was actually at the take out area in Felfela kzbin.info/www/bejne/pImwpaaLhM6FbLc

Hi Giselle! Here are your next shawarma quests 😁 1- Caizo (New Cairo) 2- Abu Heidar (Korba Heliopolis) (This one is much closer to you than the first one given that you hang around downtown a lot!) They’re 10/10 trust 😂
@Gventures5 ай бұрын
Haha, thank you ramibenjamin8603! I've actually already filmed at Abu Haidar kzbin.info/www/bejne/apu9l4qrbriZrNk But please don't tell me I got the wrong kind of shawarma there, I already know! 🤣 I have also been suggested to visit Caizo from many people as well, which I plan to do sometime in the future as well. But I will probably visit the one in Maadi, I think that is closer to me than New Cairo. Thanks for the suggestions, and thanks for watching! 🥰

Yeah I know heheh people corrected me about it not being in Dokki. But in my defense, it is super close! 😅 Just a few blocks away and it is Dokki. Ahlan Tayeb! Of course I remember meeting you in the Diana Market 😁👋 Stay cool in Dubai! ☀️😎

I love it when you head out on your motorcycle to a new adventure, Gisselle!! 😄 I know you love your shawarma, and I have to admit it looked very yummy!! In fact I was immediately hungry as soon as I saw you take your first bite!! The guy making them was so fast... omg!! That's the first time I've seen the Police Hospital (in the background), and it looks new - do you know if it's exclusively for the care of police service personnel? Forgive my ignorance!! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the next batch of shawarma you were going to eat at home!! 😀William

Haha, yeah shawarma is always good, and I was starving when I made this video! Bringing it home and eating after filming was great, I definitely enjoyed that! But I've already been back to this restaurant since filming as well, this place was delicious! I've actually never noticed this police hospital before, although I've driven by it many times before. I don't know the answer to that either, though I imagine it's just for police because of the name....but what do I know 😅 Thanks William 🥰

I’ve started watching and love your videos. I’m coming to Egypt on my own in November. I’ll be staying at the Barcelo Pyramids hotel. Please tell me it’s all safe around the area and the Giza area and complex x
@Gventures5 ай бұрын
Barcelo Cairo Pyramids? Dang, that sure looks like a nice hotel! I've never heard of the hotel before though. It's not exactly close to the pyramids, you'll want to take an Uber or something to get down there, 100%. Actually it's a pretty local area, on Al Haram Street (Al Haram means "the pyramids" in Arabic) . But local doesn't mean it's dangerous, it's fine. Might be a different environment than you are used to though, the streets are kind hectic and a bit messy, but I would say MOST of Egypt is safe. Much safer than many other parts of the world I have been to.
