Well... you could make an educated guess based on the standard amount of pocket-money compared to the prices of the fruits in question, take into consideration the amount of work going into their production and then say "Given the only variable here is how quickly and numerously they grow which would make them either more or less expensive and saying that two children with a certain allowance can easily afford a set number of each fruit, we can calculate the rough properties of that sun in question."

Well, we start with the fact these two children have these certain amounts of specific fruit. Based on average amounts and estimations, we can infer how much pocket-money/allowance they would have. Based on surveys and social studies, you could infer what the spending behaviour of children are. Based on those two facts, you could infer the general price for those fruits. Then, you can apply how those fruits would normally be prices based on quality and quantity. This information gives you rough estimations for that quality and quantity, which lets you know the results of the last harvest. The growth of fruits is reliant on multiple aspects of their cultivation, including their sun-exposure. Assuming general values for the other aspects of the cultivation, you would get a rough estimation for their sun-exposure. Taking the dimensions of the Earth, current location and movement of the celestial bodies into account, you could then roughly infer the dimensions of the sun, including its circumference. Basically, the dimensions of the sun determines its luminescence. The sun shines on the growing fruits. The amount of sun-expsoure determines quality and quantity of harvested fruits. The quality and quantity of fruits determines their selling-price. The selling price of the fruits determines how many fruits children can buy and how willing they would be to buy the fruits. Knowing the specific amount the children actually bought, you can re-trace this process.

Fermi Estimation is actually pretty darn cool in the sense that when you understand it, it is scary how accurate you can get with a set of logical assumptions. This is an example of a Fermi problem I did a week or so ago when a friend asked me how many PS5s have been sold so far. If you assume Sony sold around 100 Million PS4s in the console's lifespan and you know that the PS4 came out around 8 years ago, you can estimate that the PS4 sold an average of 12.5 Million a year. We know that the PS5 has been out for about 3 months or 1/4 of a year so if we divide 12.5 Million by 4 we get 3.125 Million consoles in 3 months. If we assume that since the PS5 just launched it will have sold more than the average, then my best guess estimate was that they sold maybe a million or so more than than the 3 month average and sold 4.2 Million PS5s as of the end of January. As it turns out, when I later looked up the real number, it turns out that as of the beginning of January, the PS5 has sold about 4.2 Million units meaning they should reasonably be close to 5 Million by the end of January, meaning I was crazy close to the right answer despite not knowing the actual numbers. The idea is that the high guesses and low guesses in your estimates will cancel each other out for the most part and you can guess something that is well within an order of magnitude of the correct answer.
