Its still tough to see the Lady Vols without my G.O.A.T Coach Pat Summitt on the sidelines💔. Kellie Harper was just too nice. On another note Dawn Staley is my favorite ball female player and one of my favorite coaches ever. I'm so happy for her success. And I wish her continued success.

Well, I'm not the most interesting person in the world, just an ordinary fan. Not extraordinary in any way, and I don't know that I would be the best fan to interview, but if I can help you with your paper I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

@@RobbieRobinsonGamecockWBB Hi, it's okay. 1. What type of impact would you say the South Carolina team has had on Columbia, South Carolina? 2. How would say South Carolina is changing the culture around basketball you say the team is impacting women’s basketball? 3. Okay kinda an out-context question, but do you think Aliyah Boston is going first overall in the 2023 WNBA 2023 draft? 4. Do you think the South Carolina team is going to stay undefeated throughout the season? 5. Do you think the South Carolina Gamecocks have impacted other teams? 6. Why do you think women’s basketball barely receives recognition? 7. What is the future for Carolina Gamecocks, with most of the seniors leaving this year?

@@alantisgreen7011 Here goes.... 1) The impact I've seen around Columbia (and really the entire State) has been tremendously positive. The success of this team, along with the way coaches and players have made themselves accessible to regular fans, has really been something that has brought the community together, with a unique unity, regardless of issues that people may differ on. My personal experience has been seeing folks that might not see eye to eye on everything, put those things aside and have developed genuine friendships around this team. Pretty special! I wouldn't know how to measure it, but I'm sure there has been a great impact economically around Columbia. 2) As far as impacting women's basketball goes, I've see huge growth in the sport in just the past 10 years or so, and I have no doubt that the quality of character exhibited by the SC players and staff, along with the high quality product on the court, has contributed in large part to that growth. 3) Yes, if Aliyah chooses not to return for her extra Covid year, I do believe she will be the 1st pick in the draft. 4) Seeing as they went through the regular season and SEC Tournament undefeated, and after winning their first round NCAA game (leaving only 5 games to go) they stand a great chance of going the distance undefeated. But, as they continue to advance, you know that the competition only gets tougher and the margin for error becomes slimmer. But, they have talent, depth and much NCAA tournament experience, giving them a better than good chance. 5) I think one main way they have impacted other teams is by causing other programs to raise their level of play, in order to complete, along with SCs extremely visible players being role models on and off the court, giving other players a higher level to reach for. When other team's administrations, coaches, and player see a program, that had very little success being built from the ground up, it causes them to believe that it's also possible for them. 6) While Women's basketball hasn't received the attention it deserves yet, it certainly has drawn greater interest than ever before, and it looks like the sport's fan base is on an upward trajectory. One problem has been poor promotion/accessibility by sports media and TV, along with an unwillingness (particularly among males) to actually watch the sport and to see for themselves just how skillful, athletic and completive these young women are, and the excitement is on par with men's sports. That, in some way, reflects society as a whole, with a long way yet to go, but as I said earlier, I have seen tremendous progress in the last 10 to 20 years. That's a positive. 7) I think as long as Dawn stays, and keeps quality assistants on her staff, the future looks extremely bright. The players she currently has on her bench behind the starters would probably be starting right now at most schools, and she has another great class coming in. Her program has full support of the University, administration and the entire state of SC, so barring anything unforeseen, I see no reason why this program shouldn't continue their success! I hope my answers gave you at least some of what you were looking for, and will help you in what you're writing. Of course, these are only my opinions, based upon my own experience and observations. In Christ's Love, Robbie
