Main Warband hints :- (mods may have different/addition hints ask I may know it or google it) - At the beginning; only put points in Strength & Agility till it's 9 & the rest in Intelligence or Charisma. - Invest points in Charisma early on , to raise Leadership skill which is VIP reduce your armies wages later. - Invest points in Intelligence early on too , to Pathfinding skill to run faster on map ( to run from stronger armies or to fast armies faster ), Tactics skill too to raise your chance of your army vs larger armies. - An army of elite troops can easily beat a 3 times army with novice troops. (small elite army move faster on map, win hard battles & better loot, mid & deserved wages, .. etc) - Upgrade archer troops & Cavalry at the beginning of game , as will help you greatly vs bandits. - Help in battles by trying to take the enemy's lord & elite/cavalry yourself , & use strategy like using your cavalry to flank enemy's archers/infantry , or can kite enemy's cavalry away from your troops at the beginning of battles (of course while riding a horse) , put archers on higher ground guarded with infantry ... etc. - Stop your troops from attacking at beginning of battles, use a strategy , let enemy come to you a weaken them with archers, order attack & retreat when needed, run around to frustrate enemy troops & take out as many, time order attack your cavalry & infantry to meet enemy at same location (more efficient & deadly), don't run yourself or your troops in front of enemy cavalry lances or will take unnecessary heavy causalities/deaths or may even loose the battle & loose moral/your troops fleeing (attack with your lance at their sides ) , defend your archers don't leave them alone , always beware your back (one cavalry lance attack may put you down) ... think & enjoy using strategy moves. - Aim to get a sword that can be used as one handed/two handed sword (like balance heavy bastard sword) to use wit or without shield, so one slot for the sword, one for a shield (preferred Huscarl's Round Shield), one slot for a bow, the last for arrows. [ preferred to replace the Bow with a Lance when facing an army with many heavy cavalry ]. - Bow are good to take enemy Defenders/Attackers in Sieges, it's fun too when saving a companion or ones of your troops while in open map battle while riding a horse (of course later can raise horse archery to make it easier & more fun). - Nomad Bow is enough & more balanced as it needs only 2 points at Power Draw skill (can add more later for addition damage bonus) ... too Bows is better than Crossbows although it's half weaker but loads a lot faster, & no need for standing still too long. - When buying weapons buy the "balanced something" ones not the "heavy something" ones as "balanced" is a faster weapon than "heavy" a bit stronger but slower weapon [ of course balanced heavy something is better if you find it ] - For Armor buy hardened ones if you have the money for it , but the normal is enough. - Always keep enough money to pay your weekly troops' wages. - Getting money: Join & Win tournaments in towns, defeat bandits then loot & sell (best loot/upgrade armor are Sea raiders at north-east of the world by the sea), invest points in Prison management skill to capture & sell slaves (just a game or so I say to myself), ask bartenders in taverns in towns about jobs & will tell you about a lord who need to hire mercenary companies (will cover 1/4 at least of your army weekly wages) & a lord who need a bandit nest elemenated (lots of loot, Lord reward money & improve Lord relation) . - Choose companions later wisely , to avoid their complain from each other & later may leave the party ... balanced in my opinion (Matheld, Rolf, Artimenner, Borcha, Marnid, Lezalit, Firentis ) no complains from that group. [companions don't die , just get wounded]. - Your wounds , Companions' wounds & wounded troops will heal by time, but can heal faster by investing points in Wound Treatment skill & waiting in friendly towns/castles. - Don't use CTRL+Space to speed map travel as you may stuck in facing stronger enemy , & it make the game process fast events that you may be in interest , & may crash the game in rare occasions. ( use it wisely & not all the time ). - Time swinging sword to hit with its tip gives more damage, can shoot arrows on a shielded enemy's legs, can arrow head shoot foes ,aim for chest of horse to damage the shielded rider & the horse (sorry horse), can strafe left or right to avoid arrows & vertical over-cut two handed weapons attacks, piercing with sword is faster than swinging & swinging is faster than vertical over-cut (but vertical over-cut is a lot stronger most of the time), heavy blunt weapons although very slow but can crush through shield & drop foes down (good for taking enemies as prisoners after a battle ... pick elite ones for better price sell at taverns' slavers). *** There's lots more good hints but that what i remember for now :)

2:07 I'm sure someone has probably mentioned this already, but even the backstory choice has an effect. Each one gives a boost to certain attributes and skills. For example, wanderlust gives a bonus of +2 agility, and +1 path-finding. This is true for all the choices during character creation. Yes, the noble choices tend to make the diplomacy game easier, but some of the other choices (veteran warrior, hunter, etc.) gives boosts to fighting and equipment.

I still remember the first time I saw this game back in 2011. It made me relive my childhood memories and gathering my childhood friends to plan "medieval wars" in our apartment complex. We had a bunch of kids that lived in that neighborhood and the environment of that complex was the perfect environment for having these "wars". Most of the kids father's were construction workers so we always fabricated our own swords and shields from scraps in their garage. We made round shields out of aluminum trash can lids. Swords were sometimes fabricated from the bottom slip where the doors slides through. Spears were made out of broom sticks with mop removed. Javelins were made of shorter broom sticks. The weapons were blunt and rule was never make anything with a sharp pointy end. It really brought out the creativity of the childrens mind and you'd be surprised how creative children are at that age. We were between 8-13 years old. The older kids in the group acted as "Nobles, captains" and only older kids fought other older kids. The rest of the gang fought like ants in the field. We had a little park in an open field and let me tell you.. that field had some major battles. Fought from 4pm - 7pm. We had night battles as well on friday nights. Now we are all in our 30s, some of us still kept in touch and we played this game back in 2011 and revisited our wars.

Always start as a vassal. If you plan to leave that faction after becoming a vassal, make sure you have good relations with the lords of that faction. This will make it easier if you plan to make your own faction because it'll be easier to persuade them to join you. Also make sure you have plenty of points into Path-Finding. Also, if you think you can manage it I suggest starting in the Kingdom of Nords and taking on a small party of Sea Raiders. You'll get great starter loot from them.

I'm new to Mount & Blade, and one time I was ambushed by looters as soon as I left the town. Naturally, I preferred fighting them over paying them off, despite the fact I was outnumbered literally 10 to 1. Wanna know how I bested them? I ran around them in circles with my horse until they ran out of stuff to throw at me, then picked them off one by one with my crossbow on drive-bys. The same tactic worked when I encountered some deserters, who had pikes and shields. Horses are very useful things!

I really feel like the Rhodoks are the best start. The Rhodok tribesmen that you'll recruit early on are only one promotion away from becoming crossbowmen and once you have even a small amount of them all the bandits in the area become trivial. Also Mountain Bandits are much less annoying than the Forest Bandits since only a few of them have ranged weapons, and those that do usually use throwing weapons with few ammo. Forest Bandits just constantly pelt you with arrows and they're a pain in the ass. Swadians are also only good for the cavalry really, but it's really deep in the promotion tree, meaning your army will suck for a while before you get to the good stuff.
@kevg16175 жыл бұрын
Zeghart mountain bandits are the best starting exp gaining bandits, but you can move around the map, and swadian knights happen to be the best troops for killing bandits period, just get ten of them and go after the mountain bandits before eventually moving to sea raiders and tundra bandits beside rivacheg and khudan, no reason to maintain a large army until you're ready to conquer your first town, which should be your first fief to avoid hitting fief cap early with useless villages or castles, just towns....
@alexanderrahl70346 жыл бұрын
I have always sworn by the khergits and their cavalry. My brother used to swear by Swadia i believe. But most of the time enemies kill the horse first, so i always thought of cav as having 2 health bars lol Plus the mobility of the khergit's light and med cavalry archers is always a boon
@kevg16175 жыл бұрын
Spud Bud except their horses suck, and their charge is crap, 80 swadian knights can take out any field army no matter the size as long as your tactics skill is high enough ...

I will make a recommendation for the combat game play. Yes select the charge option (sometimes it gives you an option to hold the line. Pick that, your character will still be active in the battle). But either way, when you pick charge, immediately press "0" then "F1". This will command all troops (0) to hold position (F1). This is very effective early game or when you have weak soldiers. Because as you noticed, when the commentator attacked, the enemy was already charging, and he had a close call with no back up. If you command your troops to hold position, your men will wait for the enemy to arrive, firing missile at the enemy troops. Usually in small engagements, half the enemies will die before reaching your lines and then you and your men can finish them off quickly as a unit. This actually decreases the chance of casualties on your end, while decreasing your chance of dying early on because you were too weak and charged 5 men by yourself. This will also allow you to not have to rely on beefing up just you fighting stats early on, because if you don't charge your men will work together and be much more effective. Also if you focus more on intelligence, far more skill points to use.

Stopped watching when you didn't also explain that the starting choices have a huge influence on your starting stats/skills. You did mention on ONE of the options that if affects your starting skills like "crafting or archery", but ALL the choices matter. Like the last option...you said: "and this, this doesn't matter, it like your back story"...it does matter. You get different stat bonus/skills/weapon proficiency based on what you choose. If you don't even know about character creation, I'm not going to trust you on the rest of the information. Plus, you can't even find the "&" symbol, really?

Parker Hetzel OK think about my comment, then think about what you wrote. I have obviously played M&B (not 515 hours, but over 100) before watching this otherwise how would I have know that the starting choices affect stats and all the other details I listed. Nowhere did I state that I hadn't played before.

This is just a lets play, you don't even explain what keys you're using and the info is vague and sometimes even false. No idea why this has more views than other guides which are actually helpfull.

Took on the hideout with six men right off the bat. My game is going well so far I even stream it now and then. This game holds up well and is still fun to play and I dare say I find it more entertaining in 2018 then any other recently released game

I have never played this game, but this guide is awesome and makes me want to play it. Can't believe all the salty people here complaining about the screaming or that he doesn't explain the options. This is all the fun and if you're too thick to figure out some stats for yourself you should probably stay away from gaming altogether.

i normally go for the Rhodocks start, because when recruiting them they tend to have large shields good against the bandits. i normally have 50~50 infantry and range troops. i put the infantry infront as a shield wall and i have the crossbowmen in the back. at the beginning of a fight i either put my troops on top of a hill or behind a hill. wait until the enemy is around 150 feet away from you before you let your range troops to shoot. it helps with their accuracy and save arrows/bolts.
@audieacer7 жыл бұрын
to be honest Rhodock sergeants and sharpshooters are the best, as the sergeants have the best armour and the sharpshooters have powerful range attacks and have really good melee ability as they also have the large shields.

Praven Overlord!!! Lol Thanks for the video. Just now getting into this game.

1. He said you get mountain bandits in the Sarranid Sultanate, when you actually get desert bandits. 2. He tells you to put all your points into strength at the start, but what strength does is allow you to use more powerful swords, which will be way too expensive in early game anyway. Plus, if you don't put a lot of points into intelligence in the beginning, it will completely screw you over in the long run because troop wages will be too high. 3. He tells you that being a squire gives you more renown than being a game poacher, when being a squire gives you +0, and being a game poacher gives you +5. 4. He says that the banner he picked is the Khergit Khanate banner, when it's not. 5. A reason he said for starting in Swadia is that the first village is super close, when the Nords and the Khergits have a closer one. Basically he gave DEADLY advice. I agree with this, and it also just seems like you aren't very good at our beloved Mount and blade: Warband.

Early game tip: if you feel like you have enough strength or you don't want to focus on being frontline work on intelligence it allows you to get late game and mid and early game skills plus you get one extra skill point to spend every time you upgrade intelligence (stackable)

I've always gone with intelligence and surgery to save my men, but then again it is extremely satisfying to dive into an army of enemies with a giant axe and be barely alive by the time your men catch up to save you.
