@muffintopmdАй бұрын
I'm of the mind that the playthrough stops when you want it to. There's a video game graveyard filled with my Mount and Blade characters, who's journey's ended soon after they capture their first castle. Pendor's list of objectives is absolutely insane lol.
@SouthernRex-1994Ай бұрын
@@muffintopmd 100% agree. Pendor's only fault to me is the late game grind if you aim to reach the ending. I couldn't win against the AI using regular troops so I was forced to wait the CKO training and equipment times and qualis & equipment unlock farming, got real tempted to abandon my character but in the end I prevailed and got some real terminators for troops, nothing can stand against horse archers using full noldor equipment. Pendor was mine in no time.
@jakkuhl6223Ай бұрын
Guy who has beaten Pendor more times than I count. My King of Pendor character list in my save file for my current PC has 6. Y'all making this too hard on yourselves. You don't need CKO boys at all, although they are the best. You need a huge warchest and a companion party that can train Pendor Armoured Bowman in 3 days, at a minimum. If you get to the level that you're training Empire Heavy Infantry into Legionnaires in 2 days, you're in a good spot. Go take your first castle or town for yourself, dump your entire army into its garrison, and then go to the outpost and pickup your stash of gold bars, which you should make before declaring the rule of you. Take the gold bars to the first slavery you meet and trade them in for the elite mercs. Hundreds of them. Use them plus your original armies as your nucleus to wage an asymmetric war on your target kingdom, never letting them destroy your elite core of trained troops. A bunch of stuff goes with it, but that's the basics.
@dtly50Ай бұрын
@jakkuhl6223 I just became a solo killing one man war machine. With enchanted shield and noldor spirit horse, I would just run the enemies out of arrows and kill 500 man armies with a ruby bow as long as they didn't have enough noldor composite bows. (Something about them makes them very hard to dodge, and even the champion/heavy spirit horse can't tank too many especially without 4x damage reduction ). Any major mishap like a headshot got canceled out by 14 first aid and tabbing out. The only enemies that stood a chance were noldor, which were not enemies.

16:50 The best historical match for the D'shar faction would likely be the Great Seljuk Empire. In the Seljuk state, the ruling elite were Turks, while the aristocracy and much of the populace were Persian. The army was predominantly Turkish, similar to the D'shar's composition. The Seljuks also had their rivals Assassin's Order, the Hashashin, which most probably inspired the assassin order in the game. The origin of the word 'assassin' in English also comes from that order...

One of the best warband videos I have ever watched, it was both endearing and nostalgic to see you rise from a lowly wanderer, to a mercenary captain into a baron. I was happy that I find somebody who can see the strength of Prophesy of Pendor's narrative building. I want to share my favorite PoP character I made, a man who prioritize his selfish desires, he sought money, women, glory and a castle to leave a legacy to remember. He fought everyone and fought for everyone, but he still felt empty there's something he lacked as he go through war after war and he thought maybe he just needs to be a king so he did. A moment of weakness as Fierdsvein suffered several defeats from Ravenstern, Sarleon and Vanskerry invasion left Valonbray with 500 men so he did a daring feat of invading a city with 168 men but these are hard men and most of them have grown and forged in strife, and their loyalty to their captain is borderline fanatical. it was long brutal siege at the end only a few of those 168 survived but he have taken the city, he became a lord, surprisingly a decent one, a bastion of peace on a sea of fire as Fierdsvein slowly picked apart by the other kingdoms. My last memories of the saved file is me taking over another city and several castles and launched a final fight against the heretic army. I always believe that he found what he was looking for not from the countless wars he fought but when he found peace and ruled until his death.......

Fire Emblem Fan here, I'd say Julia here is a reference to Julia in Fire Emblem, even if the beats are kinda WILDLY different. While Julia does have a twin named Julius who tries to kill her, a lot of the beats are different. For one, her father, Arvis, is a noble in his own right, their house being House Veltomer, he not a sergeant in service to one, though he was the head of the royal guard. Were it a 1 to 1, in this scenario, Julius would be essentially brainwashed by the serpent cultist into joining them on his birthday (though not his 17th), and Julia would also be lacking her memory of the event, it would only be revealed later on (She has magically induced amnesia). Along with that, during Julius's attempt on Julia's life, her mother gave her life to protect her, which isn't mentioned here, and Julius lived on after the attempt. There's a connection there for sure, even if the beats are very different.

It's fun, not sure its my favorite mod (That may still go to Floris Evolved) but it is a refreshing and well thought out total conversion. Pro tip for anyone else trying it for the first time: Enjoy your time as a mercenary. Don't rush being a lord unless your right to rule is getting too high. Money as a lord is bad, army costs are high, and good troops are worth their weight in gold... But its best to not pay that yourself. Mercenary costs are so heavily subsidized you can actually get a cash stack thats much harder as a lord

Yea, sandbox games can be a little intimidating at first. There’s a sense of aimlessness or lack of direction that comes with not knowing exactly what you should be doing at any given moment. But once the unknown quantities become known and you have an understanding of the systems/options at your disposal they’re some of the most engaging video games in the world.

The best mod! I've sat malding at Warband mod compilation reviews they don't even mention this one. Even its wiki is S tier!

Absolute legend. Made a video on M&B Warband in 2024. What a lad.

this video is amazing!! I like how you delve into each faction's lore from time to time. Pendor is surprisingly a fleshed out fantasy world, more so than the vanilla. Would you do Perisno next? It's not as polished as Pendor and I haven't played much of it so I would love to know about Perisno's lore.

I opened the video expecting a bit of gameplay and a bit of lore of this amazing mod that you made me discover. I surely wasn't expecting movie tier storytelling with two different protagonists and an almost poetic undertone to it all. You've got my interest both in the mod and also in your channel. I really don't know what else to say except congratulations, this was a really well crafted work of art. . Edit: grammar

Fantastic video, haven't touched Pendor in years but this inspired me to give it another go. One story I have from Pendor that I always remember is when a Heretic host of around 1000 soldiers invaded Pendor, at the same time an Inquisition of over 1200 was roaming around, I managed to bait the Heretics into the inquisition and started the biggest and longest battle I have ever seen in M&B. No joke after my character was knocked out, let the game run for around 20 minutes before the Inquisition finally one. It was really cool

Pendor is probably one of the best Mount and Blade experiences I've ever had. It's got a level of craft that few mods in any game out there could hope to match, being both a unique take on it's source material without totally altering it's function. I always thought I'd like Perisno more than Pendor but in the end the latter won out by a wide margin.
