When I first heard this track in the game I immediately went back in time to 2002 when I first played the original. This could fit in the original soundtrack, Akira Yamaoka might be my overall favorite videogame composer in my existence to this day.

I’m playing this game right now and I’ll tell you what every time I have to do a part of the apartments and I want peace. I will come down and save my game and go to the puzzle just to listen to this. This is just a calm environment to a very scary game, which makes it even that much better if there’s something that silent hill 2 does really well is it makes you feel at home while making you feel like you’re in literally at silent hill at the same time.

Re4/2 have it's OG soundtracks for their games. Unfortunately you have to buy them. re3 has the OG soundtracks remixed for the game.

Yeah, one of the biggest issues with modern RE games is they seem afraid to include music. I think they have begun to rectify it a little with RE4 remake and Separate Ways but I hope they indulge the music side of the games more in future.

@@Thenamelessnomad I remember the classic re4 music in the water section in the castle with Ashley and the music is loud. In re4 remake, it’s there but very silent. Sh2 has its track on full blast. Loud industrials sound with scraping music sounds

Haunted music, but strangely calming. "It's okay to be dead" kinda vibes. 😁 What bums me out a bit is that I have a recently released full official soundtrack on 3 discs and I couldn't find this tune, as well as several other tunes I really enjoyed in the game. Well, maybe it's there as a part of some bigger composition, I only listened to it fully once and certainly could have missed it. If anyone knows if it's there and could share the name of the track, it would be much appreciated.

I like to think of Silent Hill as in how I (name here) would survive on it, first of, i cannot fight, i am skeletal in real life, so running would be how i deal with them, would probably climb buildings and gates and fences, and find a nice isolated place to sleep, such as the sotom of a home, thing is: i was counting with the enemies for the original SH2, meaning i am not ready for wall climbing mannequins, probably not gonna find any food, strange enough nobody is hungry in SH, just thirsty. Biggest problem would also be when darkness comes, is there anywhere to hide? can the city starts teleporting me like it does to other joes? would it be possible to sleep? or is sleeping just another door.

@@wb6930 that s the problem: it’s just « good » and also plain. Most themes just seem to use some well known horror movies OST patterns, it felt uninspired. When they reuse old soundtracks they either remove half of the melody for god knows which reason or play it super quietly or loop it in an awful way that simply gives you the feeling that you re listening to a looping .mp3 file, we completely lose that care for randomization in the audio the original game had. There s just the ost when meeting Maria that’s decent even though it sounds too erotic for no reason… but let’s not mention that one too much bc the discussion might slip towards me explaining why i also have issues with some of the choices abt storytelling
