This man could make money from audio books. Leave it to old Bethesda to write excellent, completely optional books in their games.

Microsoft needs to remaster Morrowind. I always thought it was a let-down that the game didn't quite live up to its potential in various ways such as the Ash sotrms continuing in defiance of the cannon and cutscenes after the defeat of Dagoth Ur, etc. A remaster could fix things like that and give us a version of the game that would look as good as the modded game does now.

Someone should mod the game so that when you open these books, you hear this reading... which I guess means that the Nerevarine sounds like JSH when he reads out loud.

Morrowind has always been one of my favorite RPGs. I love the world and lore of the game and I feel like that's part of what makes it so great in my mind. So much of the game actually revolves around learning more about the game's world, cultures and beliefs. It makes the whole thing feel more alive. There may not have been voice acting for every line. But so many locations you'd pay little mind to had little short stories written about them. The places in so many of the stories could be visited. That alongside the written descriptions for how to get to places kept you in the world and paying attention to the details making it more likely that you'd pick up on these connections. In some ways I think little details and tricks like this helped give Morrowind's world a much more lively feeling than Oblivion or Skyrim. Oblivion and Skyrim had all the technical advantages and advances but neither felt quite as alive of fully realized to me. That said thanks for posting this. Really had me reliving some fond memories. Back when my PC sucked and I had to play Morrowind on the original Xbox. Even with it's multi minute long initial load times I still loved the game.

What if this is actually Azuras fault? Azura is to my knowledge about control, she posses the protagonist around when she speks to them in the elder scrolls, and her artifact, Azuras Star is a tool to capture souls. It might be that Azura knew of the Dwemers possetion of the Heart of Lorkan, and wanted it to be destroyed mainly as it posed a threat to her control over the Chimer. So she urged Nerevar to destroy the Heart, knowing that he would do so if she asked. The betrayal of the Tribunal caught Azura by surprise, as she expected Nerevar to destroy it before anyone could lay their Hands upon it, unaware that Nerevar would not trust his own judgment and ask the Tribunal. She then Punished the Tribunal for transgressing against her will. She never planned for it to go downhill like it did, but she never wanted peace between Dumner and Dwemer aswell.

Maybe. But basically Nerevar was the Champion of Lorken himself. So she was a puppet of the nature force
@saffral
@saffral 6 ай бұрын
The Heart cannot be destroyed, even the Aedra failed in that task during mythic times. All the Nerevarine did was sever Kagrenac's tonal enchantments that the others had used to connect to it. Those that used other methods to connect to Lorkhan's divinity persisted afterwards, as we can see that Talos still has power during the events of Oblivion and Skyrim. As far as Azura's sphere of power goes, she is associated with that which lies between, the twilight, as well as prophecy (like the prophecy of the Nerevarine, she didn't know when or who, but she knew it *would* happen). Azura's Star is a holding place for souls, an in-between space separate to life and the afterlife. Molag Bal is the one associated with domination and enslavement, not Azura.

Azura is basically a good daedra xD@@saffral
@saffral
@saffral 6 ай бұрын
@@BloodyArchangelus As "good" as the daedra can be that is. i.e. Not actively hostile most of the time. I appreciate how some of the other "Good" daedra are Boethiah and Mephala, and often Meridia. (Though not to the Dunmer, probably because of the whole ancestor worship and protection thing.) Puts Azura's 'goodness' into perspective when you consider that the other 'good' daedra are all about plots, scheming, and a whole bunch of murder. I think calling them the "Social Daedra" would be more accurate to their actual role. Rather than the Bad Daedra who just seek chaos and destruction.
@BloodyArchangelus
@BloodyArchangelus 6 ай бұрын
@@saffral daedra and aedra are not good or bad in first place. It was a mistake from my part, but a deliberate one. Only people who reached chim can be considered not bad persons in tes. Chim is love and tower is a wheel.
