I don't think that's a clear cut one or the other type of situation. There are elements of a game that are more or less enjoyable. I for example don't enjoy leveling, so leveling a character is an investment of time so that I can get to the enjoyable part. I currently play gw2, I don't enjoy path of fire, but I was really excited about the griffon, so I played through the story and did the collection and got all the necessary masteries. That was an investment, getting to enjoy the griffon is the pay of. And I really do, so I consider the time I spent working towards the griffon well spent. Now if it turned out, that I didn't enjoy the griffon after all, or that I didn't get to play the game anymore the day after I unlocked that mount, it would feel wasted. There are a lot of parts of the game that I enjoy very much and that would not feel like wasted time if they shut down the servers tomorrow. And I actually do gravitate towards those parts, but every now and then I need to invest some time in the bits that I don't enjoy, to get there. I also know that I generally don't enjoy that awkward newbie phase, when you have to learn a game from scratch and it takes time and effort to build new muscle memory and all that jazz. So there is an element of investment with every new game I try. And if there is a reasonable chance that I might not get to enjoy the good parts, why would I make that investment? If I got to skip the not so enjoyable part, I would try a new game just for the fun of it, but since we can't skip learning curves, I'll stay amongst the people who shy away from games, if they are dieing.

Gaming really is easy when you just simply ignore all the bullshit that surrounds it, especially when 90% of the time it's just that: literal bullshit that doesn't matter.

THE BRITISH CHOICE XDDD IM DEAD XDDD I literally had that british colonial rap parody song. "I just shot a fellow and took his boots, I customize my rifle like it's 1862. Just scammed a pirate and took his golden tooth, I want to colonize this land but is full of zulus! Just shot a native and killed him, BINGO! If you don't speak english, you must learn the lingo." And so on...

In my opinion, the problem is outrage. I stopped being outraged, and I do wait out "debacles". And at the end, when all is said and done I make a decision and stick to it. There's some major game publishers from which I don't buy games and I don't invest any of my attention into anything they do. I'm not losing any sleep or frothing at the mouth or whatever, just not buying or pushing their stuff, and I have always had other games to play.

Landlords are a social class, not a generation. They are part of the Rentier class, along with bankers and other lenders and shareholders and executives of companies with monopolies or near monopolies, like all the big online apps and microtransaction-farming games.

Sorry Josh, but you're wrong here. It may seem really fun at first, but it's very unhealthy to work from home. It means that you sit at home, isolated from social interactions, and just work alone... and your mind gets no break between the roles of "work" and "relax", so you gradually break down your mind's mental hygiene, in the exact same way that bringing a smartphone to bed breaks down your sleep hygiene. You also miss out on important team aspects such as bouncing ideas, talking about things, and feeling the connection of working on something together. A social environment also helps bring antisocial people out of their shells, and can lead to them having better lives as a result. In the end, working alone from home is very, very unhealthy in the long term. I'm in favor of having it a few days a week though.
