(This is a borrowed story. Afraid i do not remember where i got it from but it is so sad and beautiful at the same time!) Everyone in the apartment block that I that lived in knew who "Ugly" was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, and, shall we say, love. The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye and where the other should have been was a gaping hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner. His tail has long ago been lost, leaving only the smallest stub, which he would constantly jerk and twitch. Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby, striped-type, except for the sores covering his head, neck, even his shoulders with thick, yellowing scabs. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction. "That's one UGLY cat!" All of the children were warned not to touch him, the adults threw rocks at him, hosed him down, squirted him with water when he tried to come in their homes, or shut his paws in the door when he would not leave. Ugly always had the same reaction. If you turned the hose on him, he would stand there, getting soaked until you gave up and quit. If you threw things at him, he would curl his lanky body around his feet in forgiveness. Whenever he spied children, he would come running, meowing frantically and bump his head against their hands, begging for their love and wanting to be strocked and made a fuss of. If you ever picked him up, he would immediately begin licking your face and start purring. One day Ugly shared his love with the neighbor's two dogs. They did not respond kindly, and Ugly was badly mauled and injured. From my apartment I could hear his screams and howls, and I tired to rush to his aid. By the time I got to where he was laying, it was apparent that Ugly's sad life was almost at an end. Ugly lay in a wet circle, his back and lower back twisted grossly out of shape, a gaping tear in the white strip of fur that ran down his front. As I picked him up and tried to carry him home, I could hear him wheezing and gasping, and could feel him struggling. It must be hurting him terribly, I thought. Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear. Ugly, in so much pain, suffering, and obviously dying, was trying to suckle my ear, licking my face and purring. I pulled him closer to me, and he bumped the palm of my hand with his head, then I could hear the distinct sound of purring again. Even in the greatest pain, that ugly battled-scarred cat was asking only for a little affection, perhaps some compassion. At that moment I thought Ugly was the most beautiful, loving creature I had ever seen. Never once did he try to bite or scratch me, or even try to get away from me, or struggle in any way. Ugly just looked up at me completely trusting in me to relieve his pain. Ugly died in my arms before I could get inside, but I sat there and held him for a long time afterwards, thinking about how one scarred, deformed little stray cat could so alter my opinion about what it means to have true pureness of spirit, to love so totally and truly. Ugly taught me more about giving and compassion than a thousand books, lectures, or talk-show specials ever could, and for that I will always be thankful. He had been scarred on the outside, but I was scarred on the inside, and it was time for me to move on and learn to love truly and deeply. To give my total to those I cared for. Many people want to be richer, more successful, well liked, beautiful, but for me, I will always try to be like "Ugly" the cat.

We just had an assembly last week on bulling and when the speaker asked people to share some bulling stories in the end, so many of my friends, the ones who I hang out with and laugh together, had problems with bullies I never knew about. I went into the assembly laughing with my best friends to coming out in tears. This is the 2nd time in 4 days that I've Cried, and I normally don't cry a lot. Simply beautiful. If you truly have an ear for, and appreciate music, actual musical instruments, you'll understand how beautiful this masterpiece is; how it speaks to the soul. I've been a pianist since I was five. I'm now 40, and even though the piano pieces are simple, that's truly part of the beauty in it. It doesn't have to be difficult. I've played piano pieces far more difficult than this, but the difficulty of it doesn't mean anything if it isn't played with the heart. This is masterfully pieced together with an array of instruments, and played with heart and soul. Well done.

Why do we try to be what we are told we should be? Why are we never good enough? Why can we not love ourselves unconditionally? Flaws and imperfections, that is what we see in the mirror. These standards we have for ourselves are unrealistic. We SHOULD have goals and we should strive to be the best we can be but nothing more, nothing less. There is no such thing as perfect, there is only what we tell ourselves is perfect. If someone is born talented, rich, attractive etc what exactly is there to admire? It was given to them. Few things in this world are given for free that truly have value. Work hard on yourself, achieve your dreams and let nothing get in your way, especially yourself! Start reading this at 6:58 Thank you There are some things we thank you for every year. But my prayer is a little different. There are some things we tend to forget. Some things we forget to say I thank you for it. I thank you for my wild mind. I thank you for even when I’m asleep, you keep my brain awake. Working harder than I did that entire week. The more I think, the greater and entrecote it gets. I thank you for the first heart beat I feel every morning I open my eyes, and the last one I feel before I close them and say good night. I thank you for those rare, late nights I spend with my sisters. Talking about the weirdest things that make me feel the happiest I’ve ever been. I thank you for each breath I take. When I make another step while walking. I thank you for those one second moments where I get good chills from movie thrills, hilarious drink spills and old home films. I thank you for the hard nights. When I question you the most. And my faith is losing it’s hope. Because without it, my faith would never be as strong as it is right now. Thank you for the beautiful world you gave to me. The little gleams of light that hit me. and the infinite stars you made for me to remind us that not every rock gets its light from somewhere else. I thank you for a moon, so when I’m far from someone I love, I’ll know I’m looking at the same thing they are. I thank you for a community of wonderful, and godly people. Who treated me like family from the first second, they talked to me. A church that doesn’t care whether you tare or you peace together. A church that treats you like a human being. A church that only sees the light you will give to them and to me. That’s what I thank you for. I thank you for the little things.

The ones who try to make everyone smile are the most pained. The ones who listen to you have been ignored. The ones who care for you have never been cared for. The ones who make everyone around them happy, are the ones who want people to never feel what they feel. So remember that, because those are the people who break their own hearts to fill in your missing pieces. Even if it leaves them with nothing in the end these people will give up everything for you. The question is, will you do the same for them?

I could've completely changed the trajectory of my life. Be it a accountant, priest, doctor, etc. But admist every possibility, I landed on this path. A path filled with superb wonder and boundless joy, but also with hard work and struggle. A path defined by the effort one puts into their very being. As I thought this, my eyes began to well up with tears of joy, knowing that I have gotten so far pursuing what I loved to do since I was young. And now I have a chance to better myself even more everyday, and to help those around me in one way or another. So I carried these thoughts with me as I walked down the street, and I won't let them go for anything."- To whom it may concern

Artist: Spoken Word God. Is. An artist. From the moment you were conceived to the moment you breathe for the last time God has been painting. He has been chipping away marble to make a beautiful masterpiece with pieces of chips on the ground from things that used to be apart of you but are not longer true. When you truly understand the phrase trust the process, it becomes more clear. To many times will we look at the canvas and burst out in anger. We cannot bear what we see for we expect to see a finished product. But what is truly there is a reconstruction and a new creation being painted one stroke at a time. I won't lie, sometimes I look at the painting that is my life and I can't tell what it is. God paints a stroke that looks of darkness but then peace and I'm witnessing this all at once and I'm like God! I don't understand. And God kneels down and he says look at my hands. Along with the holes in my wrists, I have brushes on my fingertips. When have I not finished? When have I failed to create a masterpiece? I know you've seen those whose painting seems clear. You wish you were there. You wish you were that finished. If you believe they are, then why won't you believe I will get you there too? You see, everytime God strokes once. Adds one change to our life, we expect that to make us finished. That that was the big moment of change. That everything will be rearranged and made into a finished painting. But that was just the start of a new heart and a new person being carved out. And other times, we see God make a stroke, chip away a certain piece that we got attached to. A change we don't want to do. So we ask to exchange it for another color, for another piece because we can't see or understand what our life will be without it. What your life would be without walking with that person hand in hand. Or without that job or without those plans you made. If you're starting to doze off, then please remember this one part. We cannot see the sketch. We do not see the plans. All we see are the plans being panned out and being performed in a perfectly written story. We did not write this story nor did we paint this painting nor did we sculpt this sculpture. Maybe the vultures you see in your life are actually doves acting as a glove to protect you from your darkest. Never forget. Always remember. God is an artist.

+Natalya Plays Piano my parents are deaf and I had been wondering all my life if they wanted to hear music or why they were able to live with no sound in their lives and the simple answer was that you can't exactly miss what you've never experienced. Art is music to deaf people. Sign language that is put to the same music and has the same tone is just as impactful to them as music is to you guys. I'm happy right in the middle and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's truly amazing when you have huge brass ensembles with explosive percussion music playing during a fight and the conflict is nothing but brutal and relentless but if you play music like this with the same fight occurring, suddenly you can connect with why they're fighting and you feel this sense of compassion.

@Marc C True that! I've used it for years and love it. About nine months ago, I switched to Brave as a browser. NO ads and NO tracking! it's amazing when you go on Amazon and they don't know what to spam you with and allow you to search for what you want instead of what they want to sell you. (That's beside the benefit of listening to music without being bombarded with intrusive ads twice every song.) Brave is faster than Chrome (because they don't track) and it's free and secure.

I dont care how tough you can be I guarantee this song will touch your heart with such force. Try to hide your feelings but we all know this song is touching every living soul that has heard this with such power even the devils ears cant lie about what great music this is. I say we are like the universe. We are the stars and God is the empty space. Each star is different in its own way and with its own beauty. The planets are its friends and family surrounding it with love and compassion. But one day that star will die and every other star will see this very beautiful ray of light shine for the last time. But never forgotten. As this star dies its of course not the last. Millions of more are to be created and be seen with its own beauty. Lets also not forget even these stars have hard times some may create such monster beings like black holes which consumes them. But let us not forget we stars are there to help this black hole. We may not know how to stop it or see how it works now but we shall fight for one another and always shine in the universe. May we all live and shine so bright!!!

when you find someone that is so similar to you, the feeling is almost indescribable. I never had anybody that connected me more than them, and all this blossomed back in early February, when I made the leap of faith on a gut feeling. It was shaky at first, but the way it is now, I am glad I found somebody I can relate to so easily, and I eagerly anticipate Summer. we both want to better ourselves, and while she has different problems than me ad she lives 30 minutes away, we still support each other.
