48:20 So the reason London is seen as Dreary and drab is 2 fold. 1 London does rain a lot so that was part of the setting. 2 In the 1800s and early 1900s when Mary Poppins was based London was known as "the big smoke" because of all the coal fire that would burn in the homes which ended up coating the buildings with a grey film. However when electric heating became a thing in the mid 1900s it eliminated a lot of the coal smoke and also the Blitz destroyed a lot fo the old houses so the new ones (when electric heating was available) dont have that soot covered to it.

Whats incredibly confusing, is on TNBC, Halloween just ended, and they move on to Christmas ASAP. but November is after October, so thanksgiving is next. Why don't they celebrate thanksgiving? Thats literally a national holiday and they skip it and ignore it and focus on Christmas. Like that might be a genuine thing people are confused about. I know I am Skipping thanksgiving isn't just an ignorant thing that is disrespectful to the pilgrims who founded it, but the people in the movie skip it and disrespect them, but that's probably one of the root causes of the ongoing debate. If you get my personal opinion though, it's a Christmas movie, because even though its time to prepare for thanksgiving and not Christmas, it's closer to Christmas now, so I think its a Christmas movie (btw sorry for my long comment I just thought them skipping thxgiving was strange)

17:09 well the mayor could be Jack's advisor or something, he does tell Jack what they're doing for next Halloween and does help him when he's introducing Christmas to the townspeople (he directs the lights) and when he's giving out the jobs for making Christmas (saying "Next!") and he does call the town meeting and alerts everyone that Jack is missing, so he could be an advisor or servant of Jack. 19:18 he could just be saying it so the townspeople still think it's a scary holiday and it's just force of habit or what Jessie said. Oogie Boogie probably knows because he's heard of Santa Claus before or he heard Lock Shock and Barrel singing about Santa and did his research like Jack.
