the scariest part about WTC's horror is not the gore and killing scenes, but the buildup to those scenes with music like this imo. It has been such a long time since something spooked and excited me in a story the way Onikakushi and Tatarigoroshi did, watching Keiichi slowly unravel a plot against him and deal with his friends turning on him was amazing and heartbreaking. And the soundtracks complimented these moments so well. Umineko's episode 1 leaves you so dumbstruck, the thought of a supernatural threat has never scared me in most media but somehow Umineko managed to do it me. Also don't know what it is about tracks like these but I just enjoy listening to them. I guess I just like thrilling and creepy music?
