Reach for the steam Reach for the whistle Go where the rails may run Reach for the words Reach for the story Follow the rainbowed sun To the Shining Time Station Where dreams come true Waiting there for you Memories, childhood visions That have long since passed They may come and they may go But they will always last At the Shining Time Station Your dreams are alive Waiting for you to arrive So much to see So far to travel So much to learn To know Friends by your side Hopes to hold onto Who knows how far you’ll go? To the Shining Time Station Your dreams will come true Your own imagination Waiting there for you

I watched shining time station with my son's at my former mother in-laws house. My oldest passed away away on September 28 2021 of pneumonia related to COVID. He was severely autistic, and I honestly believe his inability to communicate how he was feeling led to his passing. His younger brother survived covid and I'm thankful for that. I asked myself why a one hour version, and I see the answer is simple. It's for this. Thank you.

One of the most beautiful themes ever. Even as a kid, this theme got me feeling emotional and wistful for a happy, peaceful, magical far off place. Hearing it still brings a tear to my eye and makes me long for more simple, happy times.

🥲 I’m not crying you’re crying 🥲 it’s not tears, it’s the steam from the trains at the station that are making my eyes watery! 🥲

Although I have not seen Shining time station, this song reminds me of when I saw the 11th season of Thomas and Friends in 2013, that was the last time that season passed in my country and that song, although it has never happened in my country, does bring back memories from the old series... while I was watching Shining time station on my small cell phone and with Spanish subtitles I realized that that was the channel where Thomas and Friends was showing and that song should be on the list of best songs I'm sorry this comment is very long but it's other people's memories

I remember hearing this song all the time on PBS but I don’t actually remember watching the show. What show was it on after because there’s a lot of theme songs I remember only because I would watch the opening because I liked the song and then change the channel.

OK hear me out. So we know IRL that in the movie Thomas and the magic railroad that the reason N&W 475 was chosen was they liked the look of it, but in the actual universe of the film/ TV show it's never explained why the 475 replaces the union pacific 844. Here's my crazy idea to explain it: Option 1: it's a new generation: For all we know it could be a new generation with characters sharing names from the old one, this would explain why Billy Twofeathers looks younger in the movie. Option 2: Indian valley railway has more then one locomotive: This one is very unlikely but not impossible. Indian Valley is a decently large railroad in the show, if the movie followed the same logic it's possible that they could have more then one engine. Option 3: Temporary engine: this one is the least likely of all of them but it could be that the 844 was in need of repair so they temporarily borrowed 475 till 844 was fixed, but it turns out 844 was in need of major repair hence why we see 475 through out the entire film.

Why was it decided that things like this needed to change? Who decided the younger generations couldn't benefit from this?
@kellyarch2 ай бұрын
@super2.930 The higher powers of our society felt that the television program of the time was not educational, so Congress passed a bill that restricted programs to only educational ones. No more Saturday morning cartoons, no more anything, unless it revolved around education.
