Err, to be fair, HE PICKED them. If they were not faithful, He knew that, going in, technically. And also, in 1 Kings 20:36, precisely who was, in the wrong there, and to what degree? I mean, the man who refused the request/demand (to 'smite me') would likely legitimately have been confused, and perhaps afraid of being manipulated improperly. So did he really, thereby, merit, having a lion set upon him, fatally, by a prophet-like character? At the time.
