If it was for any other title than Cat in the hat, but otherwise Dr Seuss is rolling in his grave, the movie has absolutely nothing to do with actual message Seuss put in the original. Also the shameless pop cultural references and penis innuendoes. However I love this soundtrack, literally the only good thing to come from it. This movie was so bad that Seuss’s wife requested for no more live action adaptations of Seuss books after it.

I know this movie has a lot of hate and I can see why. But I’m one of those people that has a soft spot for it. I was a little scared of the beginning of the movie because of when Conrad & Sally screamed when the Cat appeared, but I still liked the movie as a kid. I still do today. I was a little upset when they canceled the sequel for the movie. I know this movie isn’t a faithful adaptation. But let’s be honest, the beginning of the music up until around 1:30 is what the movie truly got right. The beauty of the music that plays and the style of the Seuss animation in the beginning is just perfect. I mean, right when it gets to the part showing the Dreamworks logo, the music makes it sound like it is a rainy day and something magical is going to change the day for the better.

While I see why people hate this film, on its own, I don’t think it’s that bad. Some of the jokes could be funny, the immature and adult humor didn’t really bother me too much, and for me, I find it kinda funny how stupid and mindless the film could be. Now as a Dr. Seuss adaptation, it’s garbage at it and craps on the original message and whimsical lightheartedness of Seuss’s book, but if you think of it as a parody, it can be funny how it kinda makes fun of itself. I thought it wasn’t that bad overall. Not great, but enjoyably stupid/bad, if you will.

Haven't seen the film, don't want to, especially given the massively negative reviews, but when I realised the score was by David Newman, I had to give it a listen. I love the guy. Dominic Ryland-Jones I highly recommend you to watch it, it has now become a cult following this film, it has technically the similar fun and whimsical look to the grinch, although not the best or too emotional like previous live action adaptation by Ron Howard, this film is still entertaining to have a great time full of wacky slapstick situations

Some people call it another terrible live-action adaptation based off a cartoon like they called "Scooby Doo", "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed", "The Pink Panther 1 and 2", "The Flintstones", "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas", and even "Inspector Gadget" and "Inspector Gadget 2".

This really is a great movie. It’s just not a good Cat In The Hat movie. Here is how I think people could’ve liked it more. 1. Instead of being live action, it could be animated. And since it’s made by Imagine Entertainment and they made the Curious George movies, it should look like the first Curious George movie. 2. We could still have some adult humor in the movie, but it should be kept to a minimum. 3. Mike Myers is a really good actor for this, but if we absolutely had to change the actor, think of someone who could do it. 4. Screw it. Why not have more Dr. Seuss characters team up with the cat and the kids at the mother of all messes? For example, Sam I Am, Horton, The Lorax, the Sneetches, and so on. 5. Speaking of the crossover from number 4, maybe instead of Larry Quinn being the antagonist, the Grinch could be the villain in this movie. Larry could be a secondary antagonist. 6. Have more Smash Mouth songs play throughout the movie.
