Yeah, you got that right. There's nobody that can compete with Bosco or MD. Once again. Bosco especially was incredibly fast and explosive on offense, and Jordon Davison was a monster. Too bad Davison is graduating. He's really a weapon for MD---196 yards rushing---who will have to rely more on the pass next year. Bosco will have to work on their defense for next year.

Congrats to Mater Dei. Truly a classier program than SJB. No prepared dance celebrations from Mater Dei on TD's. Well done

WTF? He threw one interception. That, and the fumble by the MD quarterback that Bosco forced, were the only turnovers of the game.

They didn't "switch" to the freshman QB. Their sophomore QB transferred to Kahuku.

@terencedoherty3049 he transerred AFTER he was injured before the Orange Lutheran game...where the freshman had 4 TDs in a comeback win...so obviousky they were going forward with the freshman...whih is why he transferred... He was a ballboy for Josh Rosen...so there is no other reason hed leave midseason

@@Will-m2t9l I know. I watched every SJB game, and as I recall, he actually started every game except the last one before the transfer because he was injured. Although he's a junior, Matai hadn't played much at all before this season, just a few downs against JSerra as I recall. And Koa of course wasn't even at Bosco yet. For the first few games this season, they both played. I thought both QBs were fairly equivalent, and neither had any significant experience, but Koa does have a tendency to overthrow his receivers, and to throw interceptions as well. OTOH, he's got a very calm exterior and evidently is quite emotionally mature, which Jason Negro apparently liked. I spoke with him about this personally the day after the MD loss, because I felt that Koa played just terrible in that game. Jason just told me that MD was REALLY fired up for that game (that much was obvious), and that Bosco just got slammed with a series of turnovers quickly in a row that MD capitalized on (also obvious), but that Koa didn't seem victimized emotionally by the experience, even though he is very young. Before they knew it, the game was essentially over. Also, I met Koa, and I agree that he sure didn't come off like a typical freshman at all. And, he was a super nice guy. But the transfer situation isn't explained by Matai not liking being benched. He's just not that kind of kid, for one thing. Also, I got the impression that had little or nothing to do with the move. There were many other considerations, including the fact that he had family at Kahuku and roots there, and his father had just gotten offered a job there and had to jump on it. The decision was made over a weekend.

Why was the 4th quarter fumble by the Mater Dei QB not called a you back & they given the ball back?
@terencedoherty3049Күн бұрын
Because he fumbled it THROUGH the endzone and out of bounds before he crossed the goal line, and by definition, that is a touchback.
@terencedoherty3049Күн бұрын
MD couldn't execute open field tackles against Bosco's incredibly speedy and deceptive WRs once they got open. And these guys are freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Bosco will be huge next year, but as for now, it's all MD.
