Mater Dei = "GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES" 2017 broke Las Vegas Nevada's Bishop Gorman's 55 game win streak, fell in California 35-21. 2018 broke Florida's IMG Academy's 39 game win streak, fell in California 28-24. 2019 broke MD Baltimore's St. France's 26 game win streak, fell in California 34-18 9-0 against out of state teams Wow, say what you want about them but that is freaking impressive.

Mater Dei had nothing do with getting IMG banned it was the CIF board. The Cali coaches complained because IMG recruiters were constantly spamming and poaching their kids. You notice almost all of IMG's teams have been comprised of Cali kids? The final straw was when SJB's 5 Star Receiver Delgado couple of years back was offered a full boarding room and tuition and payment to play for IMG and SJB went 13-1 that year only loss was to MD 17-13 because the receivers kept dropping it and couldn't get open. SJB's coach has good ties to CIF and were pissed losing Delgado cost them a Natty that year.

Booth teams got great groups year in and year out, but as I always say Mater Dei coach will always out coach St. John’s yes they won last year but the 3 years prior mater dei owned it and now look right back to doing what they do.

Everyone blames the refs but QB fumbling the ball inside the 5 yard line was not the refs fault. Bosco played sloppy at times and made crucial mistakes and paid the price.

Please. It's a shortened season, just 6 games, and he's on an entirely new team, playing against light years better comp than he saw in Stockton. Don't get me wrong, he's a beast, but when he goes off is next season. MD will roll with him in the Fall.

In the end though I think Mater Dei came with a better game plan than St. John Bosco. Bosco's defense came to ready yet their offense did choke on a few drives which set their team back because their defense was on the field to long. Bosco coaches should have came with an updated program not on film because Mater Dei appeared to have their number, their girlfriend's number, and their mom's number. Good for Mater Dei for being better prepared. In the end good game between both teams as always.

I call JUICE on the ref in the defensive back field who through all the pass interference on St. Johns. I'm watching on my computer and I could see there was no pass interference on 2/3rds of his calls. Someone needs to investigate this dude because I'm not a fan of either team specifically yet this is is a big game between two power house programs so a fair playing field fair officials is required. I don't know this ref because I don't live in this state but his calls were appalling .

Amazing game, very good football…however, and this I say as a Catholic…these are two “Catholic” schools and the behavior, sportsmanship, and character fell way short. The hand signals, the spraying of the other team, the taunting, all the rest…both teams may be highly competitive, but you lose the character and your lost everything…..i suppose par for the course for the current culture. I bet no one at school said anything on Monday, this is why the world is broken….winning is really defined very narrowly and short term…I hope the leadership at these schools sees this video again and evaluates what they are supporting and the men they are forming with very good athletics, but with huge egos and poor virtue. The football was fun, but the behavior was right down embarrassing for Catholic (or for any Christian).
