After watching this literally dozens of times for a handful of years now, I am going to comment. Because HOLY shit is this some of the best 10 minutes of hip hop I have witnessed. First off, shia legit gets me to tear up. From the SECOND he realizes that sway is setting up ffod, his eyes light up. LIGHT UP. Even though I dont believe anyone there was legitimately judging him, he felt the pressure to deliver. He loves hip hop, and knew where he was. This man wanted deliver and please the people and convey his love for hip hop, and he fuckin killed it. Watch his body language and facial expressions. I literally well up with tears of joy watching him murder this. NEXT My dude OSWIN BENJAMIN. All I can say is you better rewind and listen to him again. Then rewind it again. Then one more time. Then another. This dude is on another level. Most of yall aren't even gonna recognize because his shit is over your head. Not only that, this man straight up praises the Lord and prays that he's able to use his gift to help others. AND HES ILL AT IT. The entire over/under scheme is fucking murderous. I could quote lines and bars but I will be here all night. Yall just need to go and rewind this a bunch. This shit is SO dope. World famous actor somewhere his accolades hold no weight, but his skill and passion crushes it. Next to a man you have never heard of it, who is clearly passionate and will deliver these BARS. THANK YOU SWAY FOR PROVIDING US ALWAYS

JT it was definitely a freestyle hahaha you can hear him making things up
@jt68694 жыл бұрын
Ryan Barber depends on what you mean freestyle. If you mean freestyle in the traditional way where he is rhyming off the top of his head. Than this is def not freestyle. These are pre written rhymes. That are rehearsed ahead of going up there. The only “freestyle” is him not knowing the beat and being able to switch up his cadence to the beat (which is really hard to do). So again. This was fire and very entertaining but not freestyle. 95 percent of the rappers that come to that show do not freestyle.
@ryanbarber29454 жыл бұрын

This is a breath of fresh air. A Hollywood actor embodying hip-hop. I can appreciate how the genre has evolved and hasn't given itself any rules, but the true essense of rap comes from lyrics. That freestyle just proves he lives and breathes the culture. Don't mind trading Lil Wayne or Kanye for this brotha. That freestyle is forever legendary. And btw, the dude Oswin at the end murked his freestyle. Love how this platform opened up to everyone and not just rappers.

Charisma I don't think so. Have you every tried rhyming in real time, off the top of your head? Hell even when you write it down before hand, memorizing the rhymes and creating a flow from them while going with a beat is a very hard thing to do That's why you have new age idiots like Designer mumbling into the mike, because they can't do it
