1-Mile Cold-Bore Shot with my .223 - Twice!

This is my 1-Mile Cold-Bore shot with my .223 AI pushing an 80gr ELD-M 3000fps. Time of flight was about 3.4 seconds and it got there with about 940fps to spare. AND to top it all off, I did it twice! After the first shot, I let the rifle cool for exactly 2 hours and went for a second attempt, and connected again. Full disclosure, I did try it a third time about 4 hours later and I missed on the third attempt. I'll leave y'all to debate what is or isn't a "true" cold bore in the comments.

I have been shooting 223 at a mile for a few years. I have enough experience to know that not only is it possible the important thing is the science says it is possible . I am using 88gr ELDs though. My 90 year old father has a 14 inch contender pistol he uses the 80gr ELD and the 1000 yard target is real easy for him. You set yourself up for success. Last but not least I know enough to know both shots you made were lucky shots. But I also know that a good shooter such as yourself knows how to make luck. Or in my case when I throw prayers down range I like to believe I am giving God something to work with. Good Shooting NDR
