Great effort and result, Nick! It's always fun to test your 1 mile speed. It's great that you were able to get into a race with so many other guys running a similar pace. Nice work!

Yeah it makes a MASSIVE difference having a lot of guys doing it at a similar sort of speed.

I'm running a mile for this first time in a long time and I have no idea how it's gonna go. But as you said -- life's too short to not take chances. Thanks for the awesome content!!!

Really interesting seeing the analysis of the foot strikes, would enjoy seeing updates on this and if you can improve that left side to match the right

I found it interesting too. I’ll have to go for another one pre Berlin marathon to see the differences.

After the finish, you seem to be the only person who doesn't need to sit down. You seem to be less tired then the other runners. The others probably have more experience in the mile and therefore are more able to reach maximal effort. If you ran another mile in a week's time, you 'd probably be a bit more exhausted afterwards and a few seconds faster.

That's what I thought too. If felt like I gave it my ALL but I definitely didn't feel like collapsing afterwards. I think it takes practice activating those fast twitch muscles, to be able to push to my max. It'll come with more track races!

Great video Nick. What was the suggested approach to help balance things out following your analysis?
@justalilbester Жыл бұрын
Drills drills drills! That combine with strength work and reformer Pilates. Remember the body will always compensate for tight areas and areas of weakness. So that's what I need to work on.

I agree that you can run much faster. I really think you can tap into under 4:15 with more shorter distance running. But thats not your focus. Good luck in Berlin
