As for artillery, in the custom unit creator i gave the sherman the maximum range, buffed the damage and lowered the rate of fire to half the default

My only critique is was there a way to make the Americans charge and fire? When you sent the charge forward it was like throwing a tomato in a already activated blender. I kinda felt bad for em. Otherwise loved the video keep up the good work. P.S. I heard something about ducks and shrimps in this game.... I'm curious how effective they are.

the problem with this simulation is that there seems to be no reload time or ammunition supplies. in the Total War Series at least ranged units had a supply of ammunition and needed to reload between volleys.

I looked up how many people were involved in operation Barbarossa, and put that amount of German soldiers in the game on the Egypt map (used Germans because both sides used bolt action rifles). Seeing the sheer amount of carnage that took place was fucking sobering, probably because my brain was trying to compare that to the scale of the real event, but still I couldn’t record it at a good frame rate so I’d recommend you to try it if you can, you might even be able to get the tanks in too

They should allow them fire while on the move but at half the rate and accuracy maybe. At least fire though. Hell with today's technology surely they can make them leap frog or some tactical movements

You should do 200K Americans again but beef up the Germans and give the Americans Sherman tanks. And put the assault troops close enough to provide cover for the shotgunners to advance.

You know, the use of the atomic bomb in Japan was justified by the fact that the fanatic Japanese soldiers and civilians would have kept up such resistance that losses would have been astronomical on both sides if a land invasion had been attempted, and the war was concluded much more quickly, and ultimately less violently, using the tremendous destruction of just 2 atom bombs. A hard choice to make indeed, and I guess the US, being the victim of the original attack that started the war, was in no mood for astronomical losses of their soldiers and sons. Maybe you could reenact a theoretical US land invasion of Imperial Japan just to measure the millions and millions of casualties? Though I don't know how you could account for fanatic civilians joining into the killing? It would be an interesting simulation. Love the channel!

In reality, normandy 'germans' were elder reserve mainly, or support troops as backup (even foreign countries). Any elite troop from eastern front, and losses could have been significantly higher.

I dunno man, seems like bad tactics. I would've allowed the Americans to run up to the other side of the river, then stop and shoot, because that is the effective range of the Thomson submachine gun. Instead, you either have them way too far away, or not shooting at all.
