The Carnaval of Caldas da Rainha takes place once a year in February or March, depending on the date of Easter that year. More than 30 groups, all dressed up and dancing, take part in the parade, which starts at the railway station and passes the Avenida Primeiro de Maio and Praça 25 de Abril.
