I bought the DS X fly 5 and omg. I always get hot spots and blisters on my heels. But with these, nothing. And for a leather boot, they're amazing. Literally the full package and dont think I will switch as they have everything I want in a boot

Cheers for the reviews . The bad part is when you have to order from Japan/ebay to UK and pay import tax 😂 Now tried a X Fly 5 and X Fly pro 2 . Went half a size down on the Pro 2 and fits/feels better for me 👍

Nice review Noah! I have the first gen of these, I also found the fit a bit awkward at first. Some neetsfoot oil on the leather helped to soften it up though, and that I found sped up the break in time.

I surprisingly got a blister on my outer left heel and a hot spot on right. I went half a size down from usual and they fit perfectly. The blister issue also happened when using the runners loop.

hey man! i bought these because I heard you say so many good things about asics and i absolutely love these boots, but unfortunately for some reason I keep getting blisters on both my heels and I have been getting shin splints and problems with my legs. Any tips for minimising the blisters and treating shin splints? I really love the boots and your reviews! keep it up!

As long as you have the correct size, it should be fine! That being said, if you continue having them, they may just not be the right shape for your foot!

Awesome review 👌🏼 do you think the synthetic leather on the x-fly 5 SEs will stretch similarly to Asics k-leather? My toes are a bit squished with the SEs, not to the point that it's uncomfortable while playing, but I would prefer a bit more room. Should I just go with the regular K-leather upper? Or is there another boot that is similar but with a more anatomical toe area?

I'm glad you enjoyed it mate! They stretch almost identically - but a little LESS than the normal leather model. The other alternative is the Neo 4 MIJ from Mizuno - also really good in the toe area

Honestly when I buy them in Japan, the sales guy from soccer kamo told me x fly pro 2 is supposed to be the Pinnacle of the Asic line as I was contemplating between x fly 5 vs x fly pro 2. And also on the half size down, I tried half size down too and it feels like my toes are right up the tip of the upper and my toes are smush too but the guy convinced me to go true to size and I am very happy I did that. It's by far one of the best cleats I ever had but I do agree performance wise it might lose a bit to the neo Morelia 4. Anyway, what I was trying to say is that you should try x fly pro 2 with true to size. The experience would be much better I feel

I just got morelia neo 4 betas for 200 (because I couldn't find them for cheaper) and I am experiencing major arch pain in both feet. I know it's most likely a break in issue that my feet will get used to, but recently I have been drawn to the x fly pro 2 or x fly 5 (which are both much cheaper). I saw your review saying the durability on the x fly 5 was very poor so am looking into these. How would you say they would keep up with daily use on AG/FG?

Nice mate, those are class boots! Sorry to hear about the arch pain, I'm not surprised with the Mizuno boots though, as those have a bit more arch support than other boot brands - might just take some getting used to! I think it was just that particular colorway of the DS Light X Fly 5 - the blue ones I have now have been great all around

Hey there, greetings from Germany! I am currently using Morelia 2s, and while I absolutely love how they feel on the ball they're sadly a little too narrow on my toes. Can you recommend a pair of boots that I could try instead? I prefer my shoes low cut for maximum ankle mobility and I wouldn't wanna go for Nikes as I had quality issues with that brand in the past. Other than that, things like material etc don't matter that much to me as long as they actually fit 😅

Have you tried a wide fit 2E of any Asics boots? Do you know if the wide 2E fit versions have a wider sole plate than the standard fit? Or is the extra width just in the upper material? You could hold the wide fit sole plate against the standard and see if the studs line up or not? Thank You for your help.
