Oh wow. My best friend's mom had an IH truck, don't know the year it was made but it had a straight six and 2 wheel hi and lo and 4 wheel hi and lo. It was a great farm truck. Manual everything. I drove that little truck to feed the horses and haul a trailer filled to the brim with hay bales, the bed too. Man, talk about standing on the break when down shifting just wasn't cutting it. I miss that little truck. It was great for mudding too. Never got it stuck. Great find with that Scout Red Carpet Edition. Keep 'em coming!

I bought a solid 65' with the 4cyl. in 1979 for 500 bucks. When you drove it you felt as tho' you were "One" with it, the sound n' feel of the gears moving was priceless ! Wisconsin winters/salt eventually rotted it out from under me...damn, I miss it. I did recover from the loss when I found a 58' Willys FC170 w/25,000mi. for $2,500 to replace it. Doze were da' daze ! Have Fun Guys !!!

My dad bought a 1963 Scout brand new. It had those hubcaps on it; they were generally available but were just an option that most people didn’t buy. It also had that four-cylinder engine. Very tough engine. We pulled a horse trailer with 2 horses on trips across the country! I’ve never heard of a headliner in a scout with that top. Very cool!

I happen to know of a rig, one of only eleven ever built ford broncos with the 351 w. engine, and four speed transmission. Dennis Collins would give his right arm for it as this is a hard hard to find rig... and it runs and drives great, is in great condition. I do not know if she will sell it as her husband was a nam vet, now gone and so its got a lot of personal value to her and her four year old boy. I know this much, its going to take a crap load of money to ever get her to sell it. Now for the hard part... its in Big Lake alaska, actually a few miles north of this town here in central alaska.

I first learned to drive with a scout it had no roof no fenders and the gas tank was in the back seat no doors but it was lot of fun driving it all over the woods and more but it was definitely not a four wheel drive I never knew they existed that is a gem I definitely love love love to have

How I learned to drive too. My older brother bought one. His had the V8. It was 4x4 but front drive shaft was out of it. We never needed it. That thing went freaking everywhere! We jumped it. Drive to town in the ditch all the way lol. Good times

The little details IH put on that scout are amazing. Solid unit. I always called that clutch pedal yoke/horseshoe a turnbuckle but we all know what it does and that it is adjustable.

A buddy of mine has a 1964 Scout pickup it came with a similar engine. He said it was called a "Half-8". Because like you said it looks like a half of a V-8. I heard other people call them slant 4's.

Your threaded horseshoe is called a clevis and pin lol adjust your throw-out bearing to 1/2 inch and your clutch play to 1 1/2 inch same as a semi-truck looks like your close so all good

Years ago I was working on my old school mini and no matter what I did couldn't get the brakes to work put new ones on done the fluid no matter how many times I pumped nothing so I left it so I got a new master thinking I'm going to give this one last time so took everything off in side and there's a hole where the rod of the master went in just big enough to fit some thin and long in maybe one finger I was told there was a pin in there I hat to take out to remove the master I looked couldn't find it put my finger in pushed on the brake nothing not moving who ever had it be for me didn't put the clip on the pin to keep it in the pin was just sitting in there so when I pushed the brakes the bar just went right past the master put the pin in got the clip on and brakes that drive was the first time I new this car I going to keep for a long time 25 years later I still have that car don't get me wrong it's been in a lock up for 20 of them years some set it on fire for me I did a lot of the work run out of money and then life kids house bills and then I got sick I always would of like to give to one of my kids but where I am cars like that are band and sadly it might never get to drive again well I can drive it if I want to pay a daily charge on £12.50 for a thing called ulez any car over a certain have to pay to drive them in the UK it's why I like to see channels like this building the old cars that time can't even stop
