Seems that Jalen put himself in a bad spot from the time he lined up. He's flat footed, his eyes are in Hopkins helmet, he should be a half man inside, boundary leg splitting Hopkins to maintain leverage. He should be as low as it takes to align his vision hips to feet, rule of thumb for DBs, the hips the belly button line is our read. You look in a wr helmet you are already beat. Look how he tries and jam with two hands and stands straight up, loosing his leverage. I learned from watching Deion Sanders and Darrel Green that it's a must to be patient in press coverage. keep eyes on the hips and wait until the wr makes an athletic move, let him initiate , if he tries inside punch with the hand that is closes to where he wants to go, punch not grab, same if he releases outside, one hand, not two. And punch at the shoulder pad, not the chest, go through chest wr will go right through you, punch at shoulder it will disrupt his route. Then let WR release, trailing his hips,(not side by side with WR big no go, that's like allowing a WR to get into your cushion) his hips will tell a patient DB where he is going. In this case if eyes are on hip, DB will break at same time and trailing his hips will put him in perfect position to make a play. His eyes are in the helmet. He is too busy holding and grabbing. Sorry coach I know this is a wide receiver education page. I played DB and coached DBs so I'm looking at the fundamentals of the DB.

You know those ropes on that machine that has like two sides and all the attachments you can choose from people do pec flys on em. Well get the attachment with the two ropes and there's a ball cyclinder thing at the end to cap it grab it with your fingers and do a row with it with good amount of weight shit ain't easy. @moxe647
@moxe647 4 жыл бұрын
You would normally release off your front foot being your less dominant foot to push off faster off of your dominant from the back if you noticed DHOP released off of his left foot being in front because that's most likely his indominant foot

My problem is how do I beat someone who’s all up in my grill? I’m talking about an aggressive corner who’s square up into you and like literally in front of you. Like every time I swipe (Swim technique)their hands hard they don’t budge. I do hesitation moves but they always holding me and shit. I do this at practice and people be all up in your face. Does strength play a role in this? How do I counter this?
@jacbe.1945
@jacbe.1945 5 жыл бұрын
Maybe try to take an outside or inside step depending on where you routes going. If it's going to the inside and he's square you could try making that first step inside, and use hand technique and box him out of you're running an in route or a dig. Or you could take an outside step first and stay on the outside, use hand technique and get some separation and show a go. Then stop on a dime and turn inside and the cornerbacks gonna be really disoriented and then you are in perfect position. Also, getting stronger wouldn't hurt.

@Jocky Rohnson im a falcons fan first of all. Secondly you cant just take a number and equate it to a player just having a good game. Theres a such thing as catch percentage, drop rate, yac, down of distance. Which go hand in hand with things like time of possession, qtr, red zone percentage, scores, conversions. If your happy your star player caught 4 passes in a game where the score was 31-0 before the first score, you, and your fellow fans will never see an Afc championship let alone a Supeebowl.
