For the record Deion hit .300 once in 1992. He also hit below .250 in 5 seasons. Deion never hit 10 home runs in a season, and the game now is all about hitting the ball hard and going for home runs and extra base hits. Deion was a demon on the basepads as you rightly point out, but unfortunately that part of the game is much less valued today. I stand by comment. To be clear I am only talking about him as a baseball player I have no doubt he would be a shutdown corner in the NFL today. If MLB changes some rules, mound height, or something else where the game is played more like it was when Deion played I have no doubt he could be an effective rotational ballplayer as he was when he played.
