Hi my friend Colin thanks for the great report. Yes, the kookaburra is still my go to semi numismatic, although I like the Koala a little better these days due to the mintage being 200,000 less. I don't care for the 2017 design at all, but 2016 rocked. Glad I got some tubes of 2016, already appreciate it. Have a great day, LL

MrVegiita... thank you for such a great video showing all the Kookaburra coins. I only have the 2018 version myself and I think I like it the very best though I loved the 1997 perhaps second. The Perth Mint does offer beautiful coins. I am relatively new to stacking/collecting so it's great to get more and more information such as you are sharing... educating us who know so little.

Thanks for putting up this info Mr V! I think once they capped the mintage, this gave people the impression that they are very popular and to buy them up. As they sold out every year after that, it seemed to be the case! That said, the last year of the 2 Oz design was 2009 which helped fuel the 1 Oz coins after 2010. My favorite designs are 1993, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2008, & 2016. This year isn't bad, but the empty fields from 11:00-3:00 leave much to be desired, except for the privy coins. That's where they put the rooster privy mark! lol

I've got 2011 1oz. (Mintage: 500K) & 10oz. (Mintage:45.9K). Also 2016 1oz. Proof. (Mintage 10K). These are my favorites. Remarkable quality even for the bullion coins.

High relief stand out architecture & a very thick coin. I have to compliment the Pert Mint. Their quality is impeccable...second to none. To all your viewers I say ... if you haven't as yet bought the 2011 Kookaburra it's a must have for your collection. By the way since I first posted here, I bought the 1 Kilo 2015 Aussi Kookaburra silver coin celebrating 25 years of Kooks! Can't wait for it to arrive!

I buy and sell these and the 1998 has always been the easiest year to flip. Followed by 1996 and 2002 but that's just my personal experience.

Besides the 2008 are there any other key dates? Maybe the lower mintage coins? Watched a review of a youtuber's date set and he mentioned the '08 as being the 2nd most desired. Been assembling a simple date set for myself.

Excellent! I think 2008 is a fan favorite. There's also a 25th anniversary set with a P25 mark on all of the kooks from 1990 to 2009. Those are hard to find, but sometimes come up for sale but commands a premium.
