Got chills from Morse's first solo. He's feeling is astonishing. LEGEND!
@cyclistman63583 жыл бұрын
I grew up listening to early Dixie Dregs albums (vinyl) and any music released by Steve Morse. He has grown older now and his style and playing may have mellowed over the years. But by some of the comments below these newer generations of players just truly don’t understand or appreciate what a musical / guitar genius Steve Morse is and what his contributions and influence to many guitarists and to the state of what’s musically possible have been. Any guitarist should feel honored and privileged to be on the stage with Steve Morse and the great Paul Gilbert certainly has respect! ☮️

True story, Steve Morse is a legendary guitarist. I learnt so much from The Dixie Dregs and Steve's solo output. He has a lovely tone on his Ernie Ball guitar. Paul Gilbert has also been in the guitar scene for a long time. Great players.

I'd love to hear Paul and Steve with Satriani on an upcoming G3. Morse may have slowed down but he still has the ability to send shivers down spines with his sense of melodies and phrasing. Gilbert is still amazing as well. This video gives me hope that great guitar playing is not something that fades away: It just gets deeper.

Steve is such a humble guy. He could have totally gone firestorm picking to try and one up Paul but he goes the melodic route instead. Classy guys both. If anyone has not seen some of Steve's early stuff, check out The Bash by the Dixie Dregs, or Tumeni Notes from his solo stuff. That man can hold his own with anyone and has near unrivaled picking skills.

Two talented players. I respect them immensely, but I can't help but hate this. Their tones, in particular, are just absolutely mismatched to this classic Hendrix tune. I understand it's all subjective, and I'm not critical of their abilities, but this just doesn't do anything for me.
@billydeewilliams91042 жыл бұрын
Gilbert unfortunately is proof that playing guitar very good doesnt make you sonically appealing.
@mck19723 жыл бұрын
Two of my all time fave players-But-A tune like this is really not their forte: This piece calls for a sweeter tone that lets the chords and riff sing out clean, more like a harp (I.e.: Hendrix, SRV, EJ, Etc.). Not too much overdrive that drowns out the articulation of the notes...
