Brian is a musical genius. That is an understatement. His sound is unique. Plus he's an astrophysicist.

@@colonelkurtz2269 I am so fed up of this thema and the hate I got. If you compare Brian with Vai, you have a hearing problem. Brian is not even close and he is the previous generation of guitarist. Now the bar is even higher from Vai's thanks to Alex Hutchings, Guthrie Govan and others.

It just shows the love and complete respect that these legendary players (and Brian :) ) have, for both Freddie and this absolutely stupendous piece of music. With no changing anything to put their own mark on it. It stands on it's own.

And... He's never without that same old faithful Washburn N4. It's like he has a very special connection with that particular guitar. To be fair, if you manage to get an old production model.. They are really great! Everything about that guitar just seems to be so well thought out and comfortable without looking dorky.

When I was 15 I was In a guitar shop and an old fella was telling me ‘Brian May is the best guitarist in the world’ - I honestly was laughing and spewing out mega players, but I didn’t get it. What a fool I was.

He's my favorite guitar player when it comes to guitar melodies, they're all unearthly, but imo Brian May plays lead as if he's written it out on the piano first. Just unreal.

He takes his time playing, it isn't too much trouble, and he isn't in a hurry. You can tell he learned before the shredders came along and it shows! A very unique musician.

Brian May may not be the best (what is "The best guitarist in the world" ?) but he is pretty damn good at what he does and one thing I like about his playing: He does not make things more special than they are and that is a quality that many musicians could learn alot from. He has created a sound that is recognisable everywhere. Nobody is in any doubt when he is playing and everybody knows who is playing.
