Nice! You showed my Orange Squeezer! I bought that at Harmony Music in Reseda CA back in the early 80s (might have been 79' or so). My buddy Paul traded it for me to Josh for a pedal. I knew it was going to a good home, but I never expected it to show up in a video!

@@emmarossignol4445 No, I traded this with Josh just last year. I'm sure he has a number of Orange Squeezers (although not sure how many in original box with the original sales receipt). I've had that since high school (class of 81'). And would pull it out occasionally. I don't know what happened to the lid, but I noticed that the receipt was in the bottom of the box when I pulled it out last year to send to Josh. It was pretty faded, but I left it in for the heck of it.

This was the pedal that got me intrigued about what these little magic boxes can do. My drummer borrowed one from another guitarist and told me "it will just make your guitar sound better, I dunno why, just try it". Hooked it up, strummed a chord and I was stunned. Just like Nick, I started turning knobs. Saved up and got one, it's truly great, on anything: electric, acoustic, weissenborn (knock off), bass, doesn't matter. It handles and brings the right options to your fingertips and now I've got a better idea of why. Thanks for the videos as always, and contrary to the builders hints, some people use the dirt switch! I immediately noticed it was a sweet bonus option, though I didn't know it was a rat until the pack rat came out and that was mentioned! Just thought it was a good ol dirt to my ears:)

Wow, great job. Definitely the first time a JHS show episode has legit surprised me. The guy who works on my amps has always gone on about how great of a circuit the Orange Squeezer is and it seems the Pulp N Peel is a super polished, versatile and expanded iteration. It's easy to tell that the best of these episodes come when you guys are really into and inspired by the piece(s) of gear being discussed and this one was aces top to bottom. The jams, the tones, the conversation, the drum faces (Addison wins), it was all superlative. 🍻💯

Hilarious that Addison apologized to the bassists for using DI instead of an amp. We probably are way more sympathetic about going DI than the guitarists are. Lord only knows how often we get asked for a DI signal by the front even when we do have amps set up. Anyway, you're not going to make me regret getting a whitey tighty instead of the pulp n peel. Y'alls little white compressor is still a fine figure of a compressor.

@Samana0092 жыл бұрын
@@CirilZupan the Pulp is based on the vintage Orange Squeezer, used by Mark Knopfler in the 70's. Think early Dire Straits. There is an specific feel that I like it. The pedal has control over everything I need regarding compression and, as I said, the tone control does magic for your tone. On the top of all this, it has also a Rat circuit. Yes, you heard it. It is also a distortion. Most people, including me, only use sometimes with a little dirt, but you can use as a full on distortion and compressor also.

Something worth knowing about the Pulp'n'Peel for all the low end friends: it works brilliantly as a one-stop shop for a slap preset. Bass boosted, compressor up, volume matched and blend at 3 o'clock. Also, imagine contemplating getting a rat pedal for your bass board only to discover a) that you already have one, b) that it already has a blend knob, and c) that you're using it as a slap preset... Thanks for the video! Also, first ever video comment, congratulations!

Anthony Green walked right in the front door pre show and nobody recognized him, I put down my beer and ran up and talked with him, great guy) and to my surprise MEWITHOUTYOU was also on the bill and they are just as epic as youd imagine them to be live. The drummer was shirtless just beating down those drums and Adam sounded just like the records and had all the energy you imagine him having while singing those songs. It was such a great show I was horse for about 4 days after and I walked out of that show drenched in sweat freezing my ass off. I went with some friends from work who loved Circa Survive also but didnt think they liked MEWITHOUTYOU but I told them just wait for their set "they certainly arent what your expecting".
