I have found Photopea to be an excellent alternative to Photoshop. It is firstly completely free to use and secondly shares a very similar look and feel. In fact, I find it easier to use than GIMP, especially since it has superior selection tools as well as incorporates adjustment layers.

I didn't think your would stoop to this kind of video, giving the false impression that there was a better alternative to Photoshop than Gimp. This is very misleading, to say the least, bordering on . The programs you are "advertising" in this video are not free like Gimp is so it is unfair to compare something you have to pay for with a free version such as gimp. Most free trial apps are garbage and all they are there for is to brain wash you into buying into the paid version of he program. I have so much respect for your videos but this one leaves me angry to think that you would use this sort of tactic to get viewers to watch your video.

Luminar Neo does nothing but crash for me and I tried Affinity Photo 2 and did not like it. It seems like i'm stuck with Photoshop/lightroom.

they basically have a monopoly. I'm going to college for graphic design and I'm taught how to use Adobe software since it's the industry standard. I tried working on a very simple project at home, but because adobe charge by the computer (not by the account because even when i log into my college account it still asks me to pay to download), i had to find an alternative, so i picked Gimp because it was "the best option". All i was trying to do was add a small amount of text to a logo, very easy to do. In Photoshop it's, text, type your text, move it with the move tool and edit the typeface, colour and such as you want. In Gimp you type your text, choose your typeface and font size before your even start typing because you can't change it after, use the skew tool, use their really awkward movement system and then hope you get the angle you want. If you don't get the angle you want or you want to change the colour of the text or something along those lines, you have to revert your text to being horizontal, change your type, and do everything again. WHY IS IT THIS COMPLICATED, it's just a simple tilt. You can't even save a document was a pdf easily , you have to export it, SCROLL THROUGH a list of option (because a text box is space age tech) and select your file type. It's so outdated and every other alternative I've tried is the same way, it's always dodgy and kinda of crap. I've lost entire files before because of software crashing, i know adobe software does that too but as least they do a regular auto save so that you don' lose hours and hours of work . However as i said before, i'm a college student, i can't afford adobes subscription, even with the student price (everything adobe has to offer for €20/month). Cracked copies are your best choice, but those get taken down regularly so you'll have to get used to scouring the internet for a dodgy file that may or may not be malware. So yeah, clearly I love Photoshop

What are you talking about? How do you do design work in any of those you suggested? You can do it in Photoshop, you can do it in Gimp, you can do it in Clip Studio Paint.. Can't do it in any of the ones you suggested.

What are you talking about? This video (and the primary purpose of this channel) is for those that do Photo Editing... not graphic design. Not once do I say anything about "design" work. If you're a graphic designer... this channel is NOT for you.

@@GIMPTUT Gimp is mainly a graphic design tool. YOU have tutorials that are for graphic designers like logo tracing, text effects, cutting stuff out from backgrounds, ... There is nothing wrong with making an ad for Luminar Neo (you have done one before as I remember), I'm sure its a great tool as well, but it is in no way an alternative to Photoshop. Its maybe an alternative for Lightroom.

@@psychicseahorse9222 this exactly. I'm a graphic design student, I can't use Lightroom and haven't been taught to use it because it has little to do with graphic design. If I'm doing photo editing (not to the same extent as Lightroom) I use Photoshop, if I'm making vectors or company logos, Illustrator, and if I'm doing magazine work, book cover etc., Indesign. I have no use for a software that can only do photo editing, i don't need an alternative to photo editing software.

Im going to stop you on minute 1. 1st. Gimp is free so it beats all your suggestions. 2nd. With all the plug ins gimp is the only choice, not an alternative. 3rd. Its open source and you can make it work how you want. Want a feature in photoshop? Make it, or buy it. 4th gimp is honorable and doesnt ask for 1200 a year. 5th gimp has all the artists that use it making it better everyday, as opposed to adobe who is obviously only about profit. I rest my case. ( insert law and oreder dun dun. Lol)

Krita is open source and available on PC ,Mac , Linux and Android ( not sure if it is on iOS right now ) and some people find it to be more for people who like to draw rather than photo editing, even though it has all the tools you need like GIMP or the like

That's not genius. You know why they went to monthly subscription? Becuase it was easier to steal. If you want a watered down version of Photoshop you can buy a lifetime license to Photoshop Elements.

Not even close, but that's not my biggest gripe with GIMP. It's the speed. GIMP is just slow and I'm not just talking about opening the program. Every filter and operation from resizing to Gaussian blur takes at least twice as long to complete compared to anything else. It's a very poorly optimized program. Don't even get me started on the lack of GPU acceleration which makes working with large images ( > 4000 px) a huge pain.
