The thing about harely, I feel, is that you have to work twice as hard to get damage off against some of the other characters on the leaderboard. Once your able to get into a combo you have to make sure you do as much damage as possible because its hard to get into it again. Im currently top like 16,000 and I cant move up because there is characters that just are easier and better to use. With harley you need every ounce of leverage you can get.

This is fine for me tbh cause I think she's so stupidly fun. More effort to get the same damage/KO means more time I have playing her having fun and finessing people

Yes! Harley is so much harder, but it will be SO worth it in the long run. Think about it this way: while people are playing bugs or Batman (and mashing at you), you are skillfully putting in difficult controls and game mentality to achieve the W! Keep up the good work ♥️

Main issue isnt with harley but the game itself. (this is the same for a-lot of characters, not just Harley) As of now servers are not as good as they should be, hit-boxes are whack, and assasians aren’t really assassins. As the game fixes these issues with upcoming patches harley wills shine even more. (confirmed by devs). For example: as of 8/26/22 multiple characters that require fast inputs for special combos (Harley’s infinite) cannot be executed 100% of the time because of a bug. When this is fixed Harley gets better.

I have my c stick set to attacks, so when I use dair I can choose to fast fall. Keyboard can do it now too, by setting an extra key to attacks!

Either way works great!!! Whatever you feel is better. Keyboard is a bit behind atm, since you cant prevent fast fall dair but its getting ixed soon!

The nerf didn't affect how it was good for us! The nerf was: you can't add ice onto someone who already has it. But the speed difference stayed the same , so it's still very good!

Neutral dodge i have set to LT, (i use xbox one controller). Regular dodge is RT, all my others are default!

General ideas to help: 1) approach behind bat plushy 2) Mix up fast fall fair and spaced out nair. Fair is your high reward aerial, but it can be stuffed out pretty easily. If you mix it up with nair, the opponent will be deterred by running into the detached hitbox of the mallet and you can approach with fair again 3) Dash jump like you are going to come down on them with an aerial and go for fastfall or dodge downback side special. This wont allow you to get in by itself, but if you do it a few times, the opponent will become wary of trying to swat your air approach on reaction.

@@semantik95 good ideas so far. I would also like to throw in a more common one in today's campy meta, since engages like these are trickier in certain matchups. Using dair to poke (albeit extremely boring imo), is extremely viable in confetti and glove control perks. Since Harley has a extending hitbox with the glove, it can easily lead into fair combos upon hit. Same with side special ! :)

I’m struggling with bode, especially the dodge after the fair - any tips you have to get it down ?

The dodge is definitely the toughest part of the light version bode mode! Couple of things: check what your buffer frames are set at (in settings). Second, the best thing to keep in mind is to dodge immediately after you hit the fair. The opponent should barely be coming off the ground when you hit the jabs! If you dodge too far, you will whiff. If you dodge too close, second jab will whiff. True breaking the combo into parts to see if that helps! ♥️

Not at all a random question! The most important thing to remember is that every loss is an opportunity. There's always something to learn and improve at. Mental game is half the battle - I struggle with it at times, since Harley had to work harder than others. But keeping cool and remember these things is vital ! ♥️

It's very tricky. I had the same reaction when I found it a while ago lol! It being frame perfect kinda eliminates the utility behind it. However if you can consistently find a way or a cue to when to dodge... Instant Harley god tier mode activated LOL!

Good news! I think FlashTyrie found a method for controlling dair on keyboard!!!! Idk what it is off my head, but I think it's pretty recent. I know the devs are working on adding that utility on their side as well! :)

I think harley needs a nerf she’s oppressive in 1v1s man every touch she gets can be combod to like 100 or death more often than not, that shouldn’t be in the game. Everyone says she takes skill but I disagree, you just can’t crutch on their abilities without decent fundamentals. If you have decent fundamentals and aren’t relying on spam and can learn a combo then harley is just too much, she wins automatically unless it’s against Batman, or the harley just sucks
