Yeah. People who are the nicest don't label themselves as such and have to tell the entire world. If you have to say it, chances are it's a cover to excuse actions and behaviours. An empathetic person will prove they are empathetic, they don't need to tell anyone because they show it with proof. Empaths tend to think lesser of themselves, anyway, not higher, and definitely not "look at me look at me I'm such a nice person you'd better be agreeing with me".

They weren’t meant to have an extensive knowledge of psychological theorem. It was just a practical shot in the dark to see if they could suss out the mole. You can’t just go off of definitions or texts within books or lectures or research papers (that’s not part of what being an empath is either). You actually have to put things into practice. The way someone walks can reveal things about them. It was fun and interesting to watch too, btw. @@sulagreen5792 Trauma is often an element with sociopathy or problematic behavior in psychopaths (recommend searching for James Fallon videos on the topic). A LOT of people with the ASPD diagnosis have trauma. I'm a high functioning psychopath and don't qualify as having APSD. I'm a natural stoic. My mild traumas are not traumatic enough to explain my low emotional affect. Sociopaths are repressing, and there's often training or trauma or both behind why they repress. The field of psychology is still wrestling with how all these elements intersect. There's strong evidence that psychopath brains are physically different. But environment and personal choice has a lot to do with how that difference manifests.

A sociopath will feel something akin to satisfaction or smugness when they win, especially if they guide things to go the way they want. They care about their own comfort and mental stimulation, or they would never bother to get up in the morning. But they don't understand that emotional high that many people get from winning. Thank you. Technically psychopathy is also a scale. "Low emotional" affect can mean muted feelings rather than them being completely absent. I've been following Cassy for a while, and suggested she might be a prosocial psychopath based on how much we're similar. However, she's gone through way more trauma than I have, so sorting out whether she's really just a psychopath with trauma or more of a sociopath gets complicated. I've stopped pushing the point, because I think she's really hoping to reconnect with her emotions. But I also know I was much more peaceful after embracing my stoicism as just different rather than wrong or broken.

I knew it. Cassie reminded me a lot of a girl I used to teach (school specifically for those on the spectrum). Very similar mannerisms. Autism and sociopathy are actually misdiagnosed with one enough more often than people think, and sometimes people have traits that fall under both umbrellas. The lack of understanding of emotional depth is a big reason why, a lot of people on the spectrum don’t “get” emotions the way we do. It varies a LOT of course but it makes sense.

As a high functioning psychopath, I think I could easily get misdiagnosed as autistic if I pushed for a diagnosis. Traits of both. Took a lot of time and self reflection to understand what side was strongest, and I agree it would be easy for a high functioning psychopath or sociopath to get misdiagnosed, because psychologists aren't taught to recognize high function psychopath or sociopath as a real things with real difficulties.

this video should be called: 1 person who's honest about being a sociopath and 5 people who are pretending not to be.

It’s weird because I was thinking it was Austin at first because he’s neurodivergent and his body language is so different and facial expressions. The more he talked though he seemed like the most compassionate one there. You never know who’s got ASPD I guess. Good video.

land before time is one of my favorite movies and it invokes the same type of emotions as the lion king does. except the land before time, these poor kids are struggling on their own for so long and then the happiness and joy they felt when they were finally reunited with their loved ones! I think that’s probably many empaths favorite movie.

Never realized i was a sociopath until i saw how one interacted with emotional people from an outside perspective. Like looking in a mirror. A creepy, hollow, mirror ...

So ironic how the person who shared their feelings got voted out because the others “weren’t feeling it” that’s literally the opposite of an empath…

You know, this would have been more of a mystery for me if KZbin's top recommended video wasn't "An Autistic Sociopath's Story" with the sociopath's face as a thumbnail.

Is anyone else playing the game from the start when they go around and say "I am an empath"? I always narrow down between 2 people just by their tone and facial gestures. Cassy was one of them. Also while they continued the game, it was a dead giveaway that she's never been in a relationship before. Empaths fall HARD. Sociopathy is a highly intriguing disorder too if people get a chance to actually learn from their experiences. My friend is a clinical sociopath and he is loyal and a man of integrity. A loving human and he doesn't hide the fact that he has the disorder. It made him extremely self aware.

I feel like I could relate to life identically to Cassandra; consequently, aside from how warm and fuzzy she is, I tend to pretend a lot as well, but internally, I'm angry that I feel it's necessary for me to pretend. I have a daily battle with depression, but I'm social as well.

I was between the high school girl and dude with the long hair. Didn't really clock the sociopath until the end but when she stuttered I thought she was maybe just shy and took back my guess. Scary how well people without any empathy can blend in!
