@@1nobodynos Yes, just ask what they prefer. The friends/families that I have met in my area have told me that they still call themselves Indians, but they also identify themselves with all of the Nations that they belong to (they are all mixed with different tribes/Nations and they claim all of their different ancestry). They also identify which specific clans they are a part of. But I have seen some people on TV (interviews) who prefer to identify as First Nations or First Peoples instead of using the term Native American. 🤔

They're all obviously very clever. I'm wondering how they were all tested because not everyone tries MENSA's tests to see if they're eligible. Also, there's lots of ways to be a genius and MENSA is largely maths and science-based so perhaps not very modern in the understanding of intelligence.
@samanthaanne22125 ай бұрын
Mensa isn’t mostly maths and science based at all. I have dyscalculia and can’t do maths at all. I have taken MENSA twice and I’m in the top 8% percentile.

I like that they included the business intelligent and language intelligent persons there. There are so many super intelligent people out there whose interests are in music, art, writing, psychology and emotions... it's absolutely amazing to be super talented and intelligent science wise, but I am just perplexed by how the general idea is that only sciences and mathematical subjects are the measures of high intelligence.

It's prob cause our capitalist system can profit off of the math and science geniuses more easily, but I agree with you.

I think maybe because science, and mathematics especially, are hard subjects for "regular" people to understand than other areas. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't consider Mozart, for example, a genius even though his area of expertice is music, not science or math.

Ok I have to say this. Just because someone takes longer to figure out maths, doesn't mean they aren't smart, thank you. I have a learning disability that means my brain does not process numbers quickly and also needs to understand the why of how things work, which also makes it difficult to do maths quickly. I want to speak for all of the people who are incredibly intelligent and gifted people in non-STEM fields/areas.

@CheezTetris5 ай бұрын
It makes a lot of sense that they would use the label 'genius' for videos like this, but I feel like it's actually a super poorly-defined concept. I guess if we were to go off of a purely IQ-based classification, a lot of systems in the past would say the bar sits at 140-145? But that would mean the difference between a 1/45 person (130 IQ (Mensa)), a 1/260 person (140 IQ) and a 1/750 person (145 IQ) lol, so it's definitely not universally agreed upon by any means
