Hi I know your pain and I know eaxctly why it didn't work. 1.) Your are doing to much with your front foot. 2.) Move your front font more to the center of your board. 3.) The whole shuvit is done by the back foot. Position of the foot ist good with the toes in the pocket. Now you have to scoop it more with your backfoot. What does that mean, the back foot makes a quater circle movement to the ridining direction. In extrem, your back foot crosses your front foot in a circulare movement. Like the backside shuvit. You are also doing a circular movent of your backfoot behinde your front foot. What me also helped in the beginning is, to turn your shoulders more to the riding direction so that you are looking more to your nose of the board. Keep on trying. You will get it. Don't forget to learn it switch and fakie as well.
