Very informative as always. I do find that Lightroom can get very sluggish if I use too many local adjustments. If I leave the overlay off, and only use it to check my work, it helps, but the program does eventually slow down. I’m not using the slowest or the fastest computer.

For someone like me, who always has those blessed pins turned off - they always get in the way! - I've completely missed the duplicate adjustment option. So useful. Yet again thanks very much Mr M - another hidden gem.

Hi Anthony. I follow your. Recommended adjustments and understand what you are showing us how to edit locally. I didn’t even know that I’ve been actually doing a lot of local, careful adjustments rather than major global adjustments. So maybe I’m on the right track to better editing. I appreciate your videos. I always save videos into specific folders so that if I’m struggling all I have to do is continually watch/ rewatch until I understand your work format. Thank you. Be safe. Neville J.

What an excellent explanation !! I love this - making a complex issue very straightforward to understand and apply. Simply brilliant :)

I use local adjustments quite a lot. Also use masking when adding sharpening pretty much all the time as a matter of course. Often take it up to about 80 if the ISO is over about 1500.

Excellent video, Anthony! I use the local adjustment tools a lot, but clearly I could and should use them even more. And I will. You have shown me some new ways to look at adjustments to my photos. Thanks much!

Thanks!! Another great video. I agree, especially with noise adjustment the local adjustment is much better.

Great video. Thank you for your time and work. Very informative. About vignetting; the photography community is quite divided on this one... Some love it and others hate it. It's the same if you isolate a color element on a black and white photo. Can't do it without remembering Spielberg's Schindler's List movie and some photographers just don't want to see that. Still, it doesn't make a bad photo if used correctly. I used vignetting a few times to great results. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for your many great tips here on the Anthony channel. Good point you get there with the local editing. My dilemma is whatever version or computer, it goes to knees because of the processor can not keep up, do you experience the same? Another thing your 2019 price guide looks interesting. Would like to read it electronically or even hear it as an audiobook is it possible?

I've recently started doing more of this kind of thing, but something that has always eluded me is: let's say I use this tactic 3-5 times with different brushes, and after brush #5 I decide I need to go back and modify what I previously did on brush #3. Where is my list of previous edits, how do I differentiate one from another, and how would I select brush #3 again to go back and tweak it? In photoshop we can add NAMED adjustment layers that make this a no brainer.

I agree but LR gets so incredibly slow once you apply a few brushes. It's just horrible.

Very good topic and video! I plan to follow your advice here. Thanks. But the “IAmMrPhotographer” thing just grates on my nerves. It seems like kindergarten level work by a pro. I think you can improve upon that.
