Exactly what I needed. Thank you sir. I used the Waves C6. Stacking them did seem to keep them just a hair more natural. Really hard to tell though. You could just turn the threshold up on one if you have limited CPU.

Absolutely! Waves C6 is a great plugin for this. And yup if need be, you can just crank up the threshold on one. Thanks for watching : )

Very interesting trick. I've been looking for a technique to tame my very shrill cymbals on my Metal band's album. Depending on what I'm doing so far, they end up splitting my ears giving me tinnitus, or being too quiet. I will definitely have a go stacking three DeEssers and see if it gives me the results I'm expecting. You have a new subscriber.

Absolutely! This is one I definitely use when the drummer is a heavy hitter such as metal drummers. Thanks for watching : )

@@sumthinsrecording2527 thanks for answering! In my case it didn´t work, because I´m getting a way too shrill sound out of my cymbal mic on the right cymbal, like a guitar amp with no speaker. I guess its placement was really wrong, but I have no way to re-record. I´m digging into distorsion but i´m unsure if this will work.

The bleed in that low tom is really noticeable and the gate makes it worse.
