I don't know if you still make youtube videos BUT I really hope that you see this. I'm also going to say that I'm sorry if there are any grammatical errors. I have always wanted to move to Japan and it has been my biggest dream, but in October 2016 I got diagnosed with diabetes type 1 and it destroyed my whole life. Maybe around 4 months ago I started to search after information about living in Japan with diabetes type 1, and I didn't find anything useful. I just found travel tips! So I continued to search and search, and finally! You don't know how happy I got after I found your channel and diabetes videos. You made me not want to give up on my dream and keep fighting for it! Even though I haven't looked through all of your videos about diabetes in Japan, I'm still happy that you made these videos! So I want to thank you for making these videos (:

Luminary Xion Please continue making videos about diabetes in Japan, I think there are many people out there that are curious about that topic(?) (: AnD they would help many people since there aren’t a lot of information about living in Japan with diabetes type 1!

This is an older video I see, but thank you for this. My friend's niece was diagnosed three months ago (In Japan. They live in Japan, since my friend's brother and sister-in-law are teachers over there, they've lived there for less than a year) and I know they've been having some difficulty with finding needed resources that are more readily available in other places. So I do think more people should talk about this, spread resources and information around.

FallingGalaxy thanks for the comment! I'm still active, I just took a job in Tokyo, so I don't have a lot of time for making videos. If your family is in Kansai then they'll be just fine! Tokyo is not as great, but also good. Feel free to post on my Facebook if you have any questions!

Nice video, I use Libre and Blucon and love them. The alarms are nice and are loud enough to wake me up. You can adjust your BG ranges to whatever you want. The best part of blucon is I can calibrate it for higher accuracy!

Holy crap! 500 Blood Sugar! You must have been an absolute trooper while also managing to chug down sugar! Insane!

Hi Urocyon, Thanks for the comment! I found in the ending days that I had very little sugar at all. I was so thirsty that I was drinking liters of water and sick to my stomach so I couldn't eat very much. I thought that I had a flu, so I was eating mostly like chicken noodle soup (American solution to all illnesses xD)

Hi ! I don’t know if you are still active on here but I’ve always wanted to visit Japan but I’m very scared because I have diabetes I’ve had it for a few years but what are some ways to stop worrying?
@LuminaryXion4 жыл бұрын
I am. :) The best way to stop worrying, I would say, is to educate yourself on what you're nervous about. if all your questions are answered and you're still worried- then that's just nerves. Even without Diabetes I was nervous to come to Japan the first time. :)

@LuminaryXion4 жыл бұрын
Hi, unfortunately I can't since it depends on the kind of insulin, your insurance, your injection method, etc.

I'm pretty sure that type 1 diabetes is very, very rare in Japan. The traditional Japanese diet is very high in carbs, so I can imagine it must be hard to manage your diet as a diabetic in Japan...
@LuminaryXion Жыл бұрын
A lot of people imagine that there are only a handful of type 1 in Japan. This is incorrect. 😊 Yes, the traditional Japanese diet is a lot of rice and onions. I had to fight my doctor back in the day, but I just don't eat a traditional Japanese diet. So it's not as difficult as you would imagine. Once you get past the doctors that is. A lot of really good doctors though. Just have to find one.
