I ended up actually taking some measurements- it’s not too bad and knowing what I do now, I would have just gotten the 2.2kw for the 1515 - here’s that video: CNC Rigidity; comparing the flex of an Ultimate Bee 1515 and Queen Bee Pro 7575 #cncrouter #diycnc kzbin.infofACMqH_SIKE?feature=share

Very cool, I definitely recommend having your table in place and ready to go, it’ll make it so much easier. I just released the y axis assembly yesterday and am wrapping up the next video on the spoil board, base and drag chain guide so hopefully those will be helpful for you as well- happy building and feel free to hit me up if you run into problems

This is so cool, just ordered my Ultimate Bee kit a few days ago. I’m both excited and nervous for this upgrade, I’ve only owned an Xcarve, that is all I know so I have a lot to learn

Awesome! I hope this gave you an idea of what to expect! I’m getting ready to release the first build video “assembling the y axis” and am in the process of the next one, “assembling the spoil board and frame”. I already have a queenbee pro from BulkMan 3D and it has been great. What controller option did you go with for your Ultimate Bee?

I got the 1500x1000 queen bee from bulkman. Quite impressed with the machine for the price. Came well packaged. Now that theres an ultimate bee upgrade kit for it i plan on getting it.
@G28CNC Жыл бұрын
Honestly my queenbee runs just as well as my ultimate bee. The big gain is that it has a ball nut rather than the threaded delrin block. My delrin hasn’t been an issue yet but it is always in the back of my mind that it could strip in an instant. How is your queen bee holding up?

@@G28CNC I've had it for about 3 years now. I got the 2.2kw spindle. Been great so far. I use the openbuilds blackbox controller with it. The weight of the spindle never seemed to be an issue. It's a pretty rigid machine for it's size. No play or slop anywhere.

@G28CNC11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the support- I’m not sure if you saw this video in the series but it may help you to decide on a table size for the 1000mm dimension - I’d plan to leave a few inches beyond regardless if you plan to enclose it or not. You’ll need about 7 inches beyond the mm dimension given to account for motor overhang and cable room if you’re going to build a full enclosure. 8. You mentioned that you were wiring the vfd and power supply separately. Does that mean you’ll have to manually adjust the speeds of your spindle or will you still be able to adjust it from your controller
@G28CNC Жыл бұрын
I’m only wiring the 120v ac input separately so I can plug them into the wall on separate breakers. The control (PWM and enable signal) will still come from the motion controller, which is the grbl controller in my case. I think you said you grabbed the xpro controller so it’s still applicable to you but just wired slightly different. Either way, the controller will still turn the spindle on and off and automatically change the rpm, it just avoids tripping a breaker in the middle of a cut

Very cool video! Out of curiosity, which shipping method did you choose? DDU or DDP? And if you did DDU, did you have to pay customs?
@G28CNC Жыл бұрын
I did the fedex/DHL option that was up there and did not have any issue with customs. I’ll also note that the last machine I bought from bulkman did not have any additional customs fee either and that was just about a year ago to the day now. Super easy experience. Also, I think some models may be shipping from the US either now or very soon as they had mentioned they now have a warehouse in CA I think

@G28CNC Жыл бұрын
For jogging and rapids I did max travel at 2500mm/min on x,y,z. I tried higher and had some not pleasant sounds. I have heard that is common for 24v and upping the voltage (to something like 36v) to the controller can give better results. I have also read but not tested that there is a dip and then around 3000mm/min and up it works again. Maybe something to do with resonance/vibration at a particular speed?
@SAMSUSAM Жыл бұрын
@G28CNC Жыл бұрын
Yup, exactly what I heard, there are ranges where it’s fine even at higher velocity. I think it has a lot to do with how you tension the ball screw to the bearing blocks and the nut to the plate. I was surprised at how much flex the ball screw has, it is not a very large diameter so I understand but I still would have expected it to be a bit more rigid haha.
