Great video. We also have the 1Up super duty with 4 rack. It’s the best bike rack on the market.

This is amazing. Ive been looking for a bike rack suitable for my travel trailer that can hold 2 70lb ebikes. I just visited the 1 up website, I think this might actually work. Thanks for the video 👍
@ResetYourJourney3 жыл бұрын
It's worth calling 1Up to confirm it will work for an ebike. My only concern for you would be the forward to backward movement of the bikes. On serious bumps, the handlebars of the bike closest to the trailer bumped the wall. If there's a rear window aligned with the handlebars, I would avoid it. Otherwise, it's worth pursuing. Let us know what you learn or decide to do. Wishing you well.

Good call. They're very receptive to questions and comments. We liked the "small business feel" when dealing with them and we're not affiliated. We just owned a small business for 20 years and appreciate real customer service. Good luck.

Hi there!! Thank you for this product video!! There are so many great products out there...and even more junkie ones, it is just a matter of being aware. I am not sure what solution we will use for bikes...or ebikes. I do have a soft topper for our f350, so in the bed is 1 option. But, we will have to see how fast that gets filled with stuff. Our inbound ORV 22FQS does not have a ton of external storage. So, I can envision several totes in the truck bed as we get loaded up with provisions. Safe travels!!
@ResetYourJourney3 жыл бұрын
Our truck bed is pretty full, so our only option was a rack on the back of the ORV. Oddly, some of your other comments show up and then disappear as soon as we open them. It's still a "head scratcher" for us. Nonetheless, we sincerely appreciate your comments.

Trying to decide between this and the Kuat NV2.0. The Kuat has a bike holder and built-in cable locks but it does stick out further when closed up making it tough to squeeze my pickup in my garage. Plus, this anodized seems like it'll last longer.

Thanks for sharing this video. I watched it several months ago when I was looking for racks. We are about to take a trip from San Diego to Canada for about 4-6 months. We purchased the 1UP rack with the add on for a 3rd bike (kids MTB). We love the rack and yes, 1UP says they are ok for RV's but up to 2 bikes ( max 70 lbs ea). We have 2 carbon fiber MTB bikes and the kid bike. I had to attached a hitch extender from 1UP also, we didnt want to remove the bumper from the RV. I noticed lots of motion on the bike that is closest to the back of the RV, not up and down motion but front and back motion. I see it on the camera and made me a bit concern. I tested the bikes so I went to watch your video again. I understand its normal on a Travel trailer but do you notice any movement at all? I dont think you have a back camera. Las thing, for anybody looking to get this rack for more than 2 bikes. Get the extended handle attachment, otherwise you will have to crawl under the rack to open and close it....
@ResetYourJourney2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alejandro. Thank you for commenting! We don't have a back up camera on the trailer, but we did notice back and forth movement from extreme bumps. We travel a lot of gnarly dirt roads, so the bikes got really dirty and bounced around. No issues on paved roads. Our hitch on the ORV is rated for 250lbs, so everything was solid. We left the bikes and rack at our home base for this go around, but all and all we're happy with the rack. It's definitely solid. You also make a great suggestion about using an extender. We hope you're trip is amazing!

Hey would love an update on this rack, still going strong? Any issues? Thinking of ordering one just like yours for the back of my travel trailer.
@ResetYourJourney Жыл бұрын
We still have the rack, but not the trailer while we're in a transition period. We loved the rack and overall quality. It never failed on the back of our rig. Our trailer hitch mount held 250 lbs, so this was not too heavy with three bikes. That said, after all the miles, I wouldn't suggest more than 2 bikes on the back of the trailer for the sake of "peace of mind." If your hitch can handle the weight, go for it. Thanks for following along!

what about bikes with fenders with this style of securing to rack??

I can’t believe you don’t get stopped for partly covering your turn,break lights..
@ResetYourJourney3 жыл бұрын
I actually had to go out and look at the back of the rig because you make a good point. That said, I believe that would be a symptom of almost any bike rack system that's horizontal. Now I'm wondering if my upper lights on the back of the trailer act as brake and turn signal lights. I'll check next time we move. Thanks for pointing that out.

Did your trailer have the receiver installed from factory. Do you know the weight it's rated. I'm looking to do the exact same thing for 3 bikes and have been told 150# is about the max weight for a custom welded receiver. I'm a little over with the rack weight and 3 bikes.
@ResetYourJourney2 жыл бұрын
Yes, our ORV came with a heavy duty receiver hitch rated for 250lbs (if one can call that "heavy duty"). Between the rack and bikes, we were below weight, so it worked fine. I haven't seen too many travel trailers rated for more than 150 except for ORV, although I'm sure there are others. Thanks for commenting Robert and I hope you find a solution.

Much appreciated Robert. Since we had 4 bikes, one traveled in the trailer. It was a pain to step over. We found that we used our bikes so infrequently, we left them at our home-base for this go around. We brought scooters for the boys instead. It's working great. Wishing you well.

Looked at their website. They do not show a rack to hold 4 bikes. Did they stop selling it?
@ResetYourJourney2 жыл бұрын
It's a 2" super duty double bike rack system with the add on rack to set it up for 4 bikes. I just checked and the add in is still available. That said, we found that limiting it to three bikes on a travel trailer was best. The forth bike travels in the trailer on moving days. I hope that helps. Wishing you well.
@williamschaaf66882 жыл бұрын
@@ResetYourJourney Wow....fast response! Thanks, hard to find a rack for trailers approved by the manufacturer. We hang one ebike on the back of our fifth wheel and I built a chock system for the second ebike for inside. Both bikes are around 64 pounds each. Safe travels!
@ResetYourJourney2 жыл бұрын
So true and good call on chocking one bike inside. I'm not even sure that 1Up endorses their racks for trailers. We were just hard pressed to find a rack that was well built. And 1Up, so far is as robust as they come. Not sure if it will hold 2 e-bikes though. Let us know what you end up with. Stay well.

@@ResetYourJourney how long is you trailer? Is there a big swing you feel driving or not bad? We have 25ft trailer and we pull it with a Yukon.
@ResetYourJourney3 жыл бұрын
Our trailer is 28 foot tongue to bumper. There's not much of a swing at all. I'm always blown away at the agility and smooth towing from our trailer. That said, the bikes still get thrown around on the rack. I believe that's unavoidable on any rig.
@amarboldmyagmarkhuu41493 жыл бұрын
@@ResetYourJourney cool, but bikes and the rack still stay in one piece? Any loose bolts and nuts on the rack after hours of driving?
@ResetYourJourney3 жыл бұрын
I make it a habit to tighten the mechanism on the receiver hitch to prevent it from moving every time we stop, bot otherwise I tighten everything on the rack once a quarter. And we move 2-3 times a month, which equates to about 800 miles. Regardless, I've been beyond impressed with the build quality of 1Up. And we have zero affiliation with the company.

Will this rack work with a bike that has front and rear fenders?

Benny, fenders on any bike would render this rack useless, so unfortunately, no. Thanks for the great question and we wish you well!
