I’ve had my 1Up Super Duty Double rack for 2 months. It is fantastic. Works pretty much as described except I don’t have the wheel chock or EZ pull. I don’t recall if they were accessories. The EZ pull would definitely be an asset. Pulling that ‘bar’ to release which allows the pivoting of the rack can be challenging to pull right. I’ve had the rack over rotate twice only to bang into my car as a result. Reason, rack is heavy, releasing is awkward and suddenly, it’s pivoting towards the car. Not a deal breaker, just be wary if you don’t have the EZ Pull. As far as its main purpose, hauling bikes. It is fantastic. Very stable even when that the hitch locking bolt loosens. The wheel locks are useful - bought two. The hitch lock though is weird. Comes w/a space to make more secure, but the space doesn’t fit so that lock isn’t’ as snug as I’d like. That being said, i haven’t noticed any problems. The over $1k spent for the rack and added locks is definitely worth the security on the road knowing those bikes aren’t fallling. And, when I get my heaven E-bikes next, it’ll be able to support them. One’s I’m in market for exceed the 60lb limit of the original one.

Bought a Giant Stance e-bike not realizing how long the rear triangle is. Besides making the ride horrendous it also needs a overbuilt rack like the one up. The bike shop got me on this one😂. First goal…get the rack, second goal sell the Limo so I can manual again😂.

How does it work with fenders?

You don't have to put the rack on after loosening the wheel brace. I have the same rack and I put the rack on first, lower the brace to the rack and roll the bike over the small roller on the brace. It works well with my heavy ebike. I picked up my rack at the factory and learning how to put on and take off the bikes was frustrating at first. At the end of day one I thought I'd made a mistake. After using it a few more times I decided that it is the easiest rack I've ever owned. It is very stable and the bikes are secure. I've taken a 75 pound R&M ebike and my gravel bike from Washington DC to Seattle with no issues and no shaking of the bikes. I highly recommend this rack.

Great video as always lads and lassies. Where's the 25% coupon?? lol Any thoughts on stability if you blew a tire??

Thanks. If you blew a tire i'd sure hope you weren't going to fast! I'd imagine the rack/bikes would act no differently then hitting a pothole or speed bump too fast. they'll bounce but no more than usual from an abrasive motion.

Sounded perfect until the end of the video where he says probably won't work if your bike has fenders : ( I'm buying 3 Mokwheel Basalts...

Finding a rack for fendered bikes is always a battle. This may work with the "Fender Cushion" (an accessory 1up has). Other racks we'd say are worth checking out are: Yakima OnRamp, Thule Epos, Saris Freedom... I'm sure you're well aware, there are tons of options. Our checklist for ebikes is: weight capacity, ebike rated, rv rated, mountng style (how does it secure bike), and how many bikes can it carry.

I have three electric bikes: 2 Aventon Adventure and 1 Super 73 Miami SE. I have a Ford F150. Can you recommend a set for my needs? Thank you!
@ElectricBikeJournal5 ай бұрын
Well this rack would be sufficient for those if you wanted to get the identical setup with third tray add-on and utilize the wheel chocks. Do you typically take all three bikes with you?

Do the aventure fenders get in the way?

What do you do without the ez pull?? For $950 you cant even fold the rack out of the box? 1up sure knows how to nickle and dime
@ElectricBikeJournal5 ай бұрын
It does seem odd to not come with the rack, but the EZ Pull is just an extension to reach the release mechanism, its not required to change the position of the rack though.

They absolutely nickel and dime you. $100 for a handle they should include is highway robbery. Also, their hitch lock can be easily defeated with a pipe and you can't use a better standard hitch pin to secure it. They could at the very least drill a hole at the front of the tongue, so you can put a padlock on it. Kind of lazy that they sell you such an expensive rack, but do nothing to improve security for your investment of their product.

Thanks for the info. I will have to reach out and see if they simply haven't updated their site with that info yet, or if they did in fact make a new version. Ours looks identical to the one on their site though.

@@ElectricBikeJournal I just reached out to them they said they will release a newer version either later this year or the mid next year....
