Fellas, price does not correlate to how something looks. It correlates to supply and demand… if you have demand but no supply, you have a $10 million dollar tiny little see-through pebble with poop water color. Now you have some other pebbles that are practically everywhere and for which the demand is high but the supply is higher, and it’s a beautiful pebble with paradise lagoon water color for $10. That’s why NVDA stock is like 10x the price that it’s supposed to be in theory (if not more) based on what the company is actually worth. The only reason why is due to hype. People have fun coupons (aka fiat money), 50% of all of which in circulation was printed during the pandemic, which is looking for a place to live… enter the AI mania rally… prices go up, people FOMO buy, price goes up, people FOMO buy, price goes up, etc until there is no more money. Then the absolute opposite happens. Fear of loss and selling. Noobs bag holding out of hope, because when fear turns into hope, money is always lost. If you just look for imbalances between supply and demand, you can make A LOT of money trading valuable goods/instruments. Gems are no exception, it’s just a complex commodity. We even trade gems the same way we trade wheat futures. Take this principle to the market and combine it with ABSOLUTELY IMPECCABLE RIGOROUS mental preparation to not make emotional errors in judgement and decision making (oh and obviously ordinary risk management (aka rigid risk to reward rules) but that’s obvious), and you are a professional trader. It’s really that simple.

in the hundreds of dollars you can get some of the best stuff in my opinion. Decent fire agates (not the best, those are a bit more), and very nice Pietersites or Ammolites. If you just like basic (boring) clear sparkly stuff your best bet is just getting tons of cubic zirconia, which can indeed be in the 1-10$ range. It comes in any color of the rainbow, is super sparkly, and you can get big ones or small ones.

The ninjas aren't the ones buying alexandrites, they don't even know what they are. It's the Arabs, Russians, Chinese, and Indians. That alexandrite is awful looking though, there are much nicer ones you can get for much cheaper. I'd take anything this guy says about colored gemstones with a grain of salt. He knows diamonds decently well, but colored gemstones are a whole other area of expertise in which Maksud isn't well educated.
